PRODUCT OF THE WEEK - ULTRA GRIP ( Bonding Agent ) HOW TO USE IT Apply one very thin coat. Allow to dry for 12 hours before applying subsequent coats of Fusi...on colours. Clean up with water. Because Ultra Grip is so strong, it can hold more texture, so if you apply it heavily with a brush, you will see brush marks, so apply thin and sparingly with a lightly damp sponge or applicator pad. Applying a smooth coat of Ultra Grip will create little tiny, (invisible to the naked eye), peaks and valleys in your smooth surface, so it creates a ‘key’ for the paint to adhere to. We like to think that Ultra Grip makes the impossible to paint possible. COVERAGE One bottle of Ultra Grip ( Bonding Agent ) will cover approximately 75sqft so a little goes a very long way. DID YOU KNOW? This product is made with industrial strength acrylic resin and is super tough and hard wearing. This product also has zero VOC’s and is safe to use indoors. If when applying Ultra Grip it starts to separate or lace on the surface, just allow it to dry and apply another coat. WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE? Ultra Grip is white in the wet state but dries to a clear film. CURE TIME You can recoat after 4-6 hours if you need more than one coat of Ultra Grip. Painting over Ultra Grip should be done 24hrs after for the best results. WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE USED FOR? Ultra Grip / Bonding Agent is used for Milk Paint when painting a shiny surface. It is added into the mixed Milk Paint for the first coat to ensure adhesion. You can create texture with this product! So try experimenting with it if you love to create textured finishes. Ultra Grip can also be used in the application of decoupage! Apply a coat of Ultra Grip to dry overnight, place your decoupage to the surface and use a hot iron over some wax paper. This reconstitutes the Ultra Grip and causes a strong bond with the decoupage. This ensures no wrinkle and bubbles which you can sometimes get when decoupaging! How amazing is that! I started this project several months ago! It was quickly claimed by my daughter who was preparing to leave the nest! We finally finished it up this weekend and it’s ready for it’s new home! Yesterday, a friend reminded me that Dec 15th marked Serendipity Paint Co.’s 3rd Anniversary! I am so extremely grateful for all of the business and support along the way! I’ve learned so much over these last three years. From furniture rehab tips and tricks, to painting do’s and donts. The learnings have been fantastic (and sometimes incredibly frustrating). But the part that really brings me the most joy is all of you! I had no idea when I started this venture ...that workshops would fill me with so much happiness. It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know so many new faces, and so much fun hosting to create and learn about these amazing products. I absolutely love seeing all of your creations both in workshops and back home when you purchase products to rehab your own pieces! It’s true.....time really does fly when you’re having fun!
