Yoga Actions Personal Development Workshops TRANSFORMING THE SUBTLE BODY: Creating Space For Organic Healing... December 12, 2020 ~ 1:00 - 5:00 pm (Only available virtually at this time) There are many practices or therapies dedicated to healing our physical body the Annamaya kosha. However, yoga is the only practice that specifically creates healing for the organs of the body. In yoga, an organic practice moves away from the Annamaya kosha of bones and muscular tissue (the earth element) into the water and air elements. The flow of circulation and breath through the lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, stomach and respiratory diaphragm is its fundamental focus. Through enhancing the circulatory system, we directly feed energy into and heal the organic system. In this workshop, our focus is on creating breathing space in and around the organs in the torso and pelvis. The activation and release of organic subtle energy requires longer holds and often more supports than we might use in other forms of practice. Thus, transforming from the organic body invites more restorative poses. Pranayama, Pratyahara and Meditation are also practised in the workshop timeframe. Note: For 200 RYTs these Specialty Class can also be credited towards Serene Yoga Studio Yoga Actions Advanced Teacher Training Program! Cancellation Policy: Workshops can be cancelled 7 days prior to the workshop date and students will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable.

Rita offers this little taste: "As a dedicated Yinster - someone who commits to a regular practice of Yin Yoga - I am convinced that this practice, which combines ancient wisdom teachings with modern science, is a beautiful antidote to the challenging times that we presently find ourselves enveloped in. In the coming weeks the focus of my Monday morning offering will be to build up the Immune System through ...poses and breath work that ensure we stay in the 'tend-and-befriend' aspect of our nervous system. It is only when we maintain parasympathetic dominance that we can restore our bodily systems and accumulate resources. So while the poses will invite compassionate stress to connective tissues that is necessary for wellness, clever use of the breath will ensure we nudge blockages to regain energetic flow. This is not difficult yoga but it does require both intention and attention.
