In honour of World Marrow Donor Day, we celebrate stem cell registrants and donors including family, unrelated and cord blood donors in Canada and around the wo...rld. We are thankful for over 458,000 existing registrants on the Canadian Blood Services Stem Cell Registry. Your commitment as a potential donor means so much to patients in need of a lifesaving stem cell transplant. We are also immensely thankful for all the new registrants who participated in our commemorative mosaic in honour of World Marrow Donor Day 2020. Thank you for being part of something big. Together, we are Canada’s Lifeline #WMMD2020 #ThankYouDonor #StemCellsForLife #CanadasLifeline

In honour of #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth, we are sharing this post from Dawn Pickering and Why We Swab _________________________ It is just so overwhelmi...ngly beautiful, you know, all these things that people are doing for us. My husband is not overtly emotional but he's been, so often, just on the verge of tears. You know, when somebody sends us a message or they tell us they're gonna do thisWe see people are posting on the pizzas named after Ollie, saying, I ordered all these pizzas and we're on your team, Ollie’s team. And, you know, all of those little gestures make you feel so supported and so very lucky, despite everything. That's the crazy part, right? How can you possibly feel lucky with all that is going on in your life? But you do. _________________________ Dawn Pickering talks about the humanity of others in support of her son Ollie who has anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Picture shows from left to right Dawn (mother), Ollie, Abby (Ollie’s sibling donor), and Mario (father). #WhyWeSwab #stemcells #transplant #gratitude #lymphoma #donor #CanadasLifeline #cancer #health #bonemarrow See more
