Hey Everyone! It has been a long time since I’ve given you an update! After taking a break starting in January, I’ve had some time to breathe and it worked out well considering the events that unfolded in March and beyond. I’ve had many of you reach out to see if I was still taking custom orders and I was happy to do them if I was able! Now as September nears and I keep my fingers crossed for a somewhat normal few months I will officially begin taking custom orders again Feel free to message me if your wanting something in the next few months. I only have a few spots left for September/October!

**Final Post** You will need: Food colouring Little cups/containers... Paint brushes Vodka Put a little bit of vodka in the container (if you’ve had a crappy week as well then maybe take a shot or two before you begin ) and add a few drops of food colouring. We’re using vodka because it evaporates quickly so it doesn’t dissolve your icing. You can also use any clear hard liquor or liquor based extract instead of vodka. Then you just paint away! Have fun and Happy Easter!

Part 2 - Please refer to my second video in my first series to learn how to make Royal Icing. I was planning on showing you how to decorate cookies with different icing consistencies but decided to do something a bit easier. You can still follow the video but you don’t need to add colour to the icing and just outline the cookie, then fill in. Use whatever cookie cutter you want! I went with an egg shape for the kids to paint. Royal Icing 4 Egg Whites 2Tbsp Lem...on Juice 2tsp Vanilla 8cups Powdered Sugar (or 1x1kg bag) Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix on medium speed for 5-10 minutes. Add more powdered sugar to thicken consistency or add 1/2 tsp of water at a time to thin consistency. don’t worry about adding colour to this icing...we will be painting the cookies anyway! to make 5-10 second icing you will need to add a little bit of water at a time until when you slice a butter knife through the icing, it disappears within 5-10 seconds. If you accidentally add too much water, add a bit more powdered sugar. *let the cookies dry for at LEAST 6 hours before painting. I let my kids paint them just after 6 hours and of course they pressed too hard making holes in the icing

Good evening! It has been one of those weeks where our schedule kind of went by the wayside, and I wasn’t in much of a mood to videotape myself So that being said, I wanted to do another tutorial for cookie decorating but I decided to do something a little different. I wanted to get my kids involved and they love decorating Easter eggs. So I’m going to show you how to make some sugar cookies that the kids (or you) can paint! This first video is basically just a tutorial on... how to bake cookies. Please refer to my Part 1- Making Sugar Cookie Cups for the cookie recipe. Roll out the dough and cut out your shapes with cookie cutters Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 350F for 7-8 minutes Take them out of the oven as soon as the edges start to turn golden Let them cool before icing Part 2 will teach you how to make the icing for flooding your cookies

Part 3- Putting It All Together Again, let me know if you have any questions. This is the final part. Please post pictures if you decide to try it out! I’d love to see what everyone comes up with! Happy Baking!

If you don’t want to hear me say Um every 5 seconds then please feel free to skip the video and just follow the recipe down below. I promise to try and get rid of the ums in my next tutorial Vanilla Sugar Cookie Recipe 3cups Flour 2tsp Baking powder... 1/2 tsp Salt 1cup Butter 1cup Sugar 1.5tsp Vanilla extract 1 Egg Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl. Set aside. (Skip to 6.12minutes in to see this part) With a hand mixer or stand mixer, mix the butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and mix until fully incorporated. Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated. Slowly add your dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Use your hands to roll the dough into a ball. (Skip to 15.57 minutes to see this part) Preheat the oven to 350F. Take a mini muffin tin and spray with cooking spray. Roll about one tbsp of dough into a ball and fill all 12 holes of the muffin tin. Take a small medicine cup and press down into the centre of each dough ball making a well in the dough. When you have done all 12, place into the oven and bake for 7-9 minutes. (Skip to 24.26 minutes to see this part) When they are just golden on top, remove from the oven. They will have expanded so take your medicine cup again and push down into the centre of the dough to make the well. Let them cool in the pan for a few minutes and then carefully transfer them to a cooking rack Let me know if you have any questions and look for Part 2 tomorrow!

Good Morning! I have been putting off making this post but on New Years Eve I feel like I just need to rip off the bandaid. It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I will not be taking any more custom orders in the new year. I hope to still have some Pop Up Sales but it will all be based on whether I have the time. When I jumped head first into this in July I was unaware of the demand for decorated cookies. I was amazed at the support I received from all of you... and I couldn’t be more thankful. Unfortunately I was just unprepared and am going through a bit of burnout. I really hope to get back into it in the future once I am able to do my research and figure out a better game plan. Right now I just feel like my time needs to be focused on these little people I love so much. I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and Happy New Year surrounded by the people we love the most Nothing else matters. Thank you all for understanding and for anyone that has placed an order in the New Year I will still be doing all booked orders. I just won’t be taking on any new ones for the time being. With much love and gratitude, Shelby
