LIFE CHANGING HABITS. How we look, feel and perform is largely down to our daily habits. For the most part they decide whether we are strong or weak, lean or overweight, healthy or unhealthy.... And the good thing is... It's fairly straightforward develop new habits. To start with, you should have a big goal One that would make a gigantic difference to your life if you achieved it. Then within that big goal - you need to think small. What are the daily habits you must develop in order to hit your target? Then create those new habits. Here's how: Create a behaviour chain. This basically involves choosing a regular part of your schedule Then adding another link in the chain by tacking on a new habit For example: I’m going to get back into the gym and get in shape. Not very inspiring nor does it sound like your planning on making it a long-term thing But if it becomes... Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I’m going to leave work at 5pm and go straight to the gym to train for 30 minutes. Well that's much better. And you're more likely to stick to it because you've been specific and you've scheduled it in. Once you’ve set a few behaviour chains like that? Stick to them. "Hey don't eat those carbs" "And definitely not after 6pm" "Fatty food is bad for you too"... "Unless you want to put butter in your coffee - that's okay" "And remember too much protein will ruin your kidneys" "You 100% need go on a detox - blended vegetables fix everything" "No, no sorry - it's all about fasting" "Weight loss tea" Feel confused? A thousand different "experts" All convincingly dishing out conflicting info. It's all massively overcomplicated. (unnecessarily so) And usually by someone who's trying to sell you a specific diet. Their "magic formula". But when you actually look at nutritional science... (and see it in action with 100s of clients over many years) You discover that when it comes to transforming your body nutrition is remarkably simple. It pretty much comes down to a few simple things: First, eating the right amount of calories. Need to lose some fluff? Eat a bit less than you need. Want to gain some mass? Eat a bit more than you need. That's the foundation. Next, most of the time eat a good mix of "healthy" foods. And do that more often than you eat: Chips. Sweets. Fast food. And chocolate. Like aim for 90% "good" versus 10% not-so-good. That'd be great. But 80/20 will do the trick as well. And honestly? That's the bulk of it. Get that right and you'll do just fine. Because there aren't any hacks when it comes to transforming your body. It's all about doing the basics really well.
