Christmas letter 2020 Wow what a year 2020 has been. We hope you all have a healthy and joyful Christmas season. The Wittlief’s never did make it to Timber Edge but we did open some campsites . Kevin and Diane were gracious enough to book and take care of a few Canadian guests but for the most part all the fish were able to grow and multiply exponentially for some super fishing in the very near future. I’m sure everyone wants to know the status of the border for 2021. I am... sorry to inform you that I have nothing concrete or for that matter any clear direction on what is going to happen as of December 2020. The numerous tourism organization emails, Canadian newspaper stories, and politician statements to the media usually end up contradicting each other every month. I will tell you the latest but it is subject to change. It appears the border will not open until the Covid vaccine is READILY available and covid infection numbers come down in both countries. The vaccine being readily available by most accounts will not happen until late spring or early summer. In our OPINION and only OPINION we would be surprised if the border opens before late July, and wouldn’t be surprised of a mid August opening but do believe it will open this year. At this time for those of you with May June, or early July reservations, we strongly suggest for you to consider moving into August or September if you can or would want to, again a lot depends on vaccine availability and distribution. Our winter sports show schedule has changes this year as most have been cancelled so these are subject to change Des Moines at the Iowa Deer Classic March 5-7 and the Wisconsin Sportmans show in Eau Claire April 16-18. The Border closure has been extended to September 21, our latest email from NOTO who lobbies on our behalf with the Ontario and Canadian government is attempting to get a plan in place for border opening by April 1st 2021, so personally I wouldn't expect it to open before then. Fishing and hunting should be exceptional next year and we can't wait!!!!!

The Border closure will be extended month to month but Canada has no plans to open the border this year or at least until after hunting and fishing season. We really appreciate all of our customers being so flexible most of you rescheduled for the late summer and now we are all on to next year. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If by chance the border does decide to open in Late August or September WE WILL BE OPEN for US residents to come up.
