We're thrilled to showcase two new works by artist Dale Dunning in our 6th Anniversary Show. "Lettered (large)", a monumental work in aluminum, and "Lettered" a work in bronze, are both featured in the show. Dale Dunning was born in Ottawa and has worked from his foundry near Almonte, Ontario for over four decades. Working with bronze, steel, and aluminum, his works are evocative and meticulously executed. My sculptures are objects of reflection and contemplation, he states.... The head that I employ in most of my work is generic, non-specific, genderless, egg-like in form and intention. The show continues to Dec 30 - for more info, visit our Exhibition Webpage: https://sivarulrasa.com/exhibitions/6th-anniversary-show/ Join us for the Artists Talk/Virtual Vernissage on Zoom on Wed Dec 9th, 7pm-830pm (sculptors Dale Dunning, Sue Adams, Deborah Arnold, Susan Low-Beer, and Jim Hake will join us to talk about their work in sculpture; painter Gayle Kells will talk about her installation "Nowhere to go"). Email us at [email protected] if you would like to receive the Zoom link for the talk.
Sivarulrasa Gallery is delighted to announce representation of artist Mary Pfaff! Her nonrepresentational paintings and drawings have an atmospheric, lyrical quality, evocative of themes in nature and life. Her aesthetic is inspired in part by the Japanese notion of wabi-sabi, where beauty is seen in imperfection and impermanence. The passage of time, fragility, and the interplay of light and darkness are all recognized and honoured in her work. Her most recent paintings below will be featured in our upcoming 6th Anniversary Show, which will run Nov 25 - Dec 30. We're thrilled to present new paintings by artist Gayle Kells as part of our 6th Anniversary Show! This vibrant series of paintings is entitled "Nowhere to go" and was created by the artist during the lockdown this Spring. They reflect one of the remaining things we were allowed to do in lockdown explore our neighborhood, she states. As many people stayed home, their local forests, walking paths, parklands and streets became a place of refuge and renewal.
