Hey guys - registrations for Realtor/Mortgage broker Christmas Party is coming in fast and furious. At about 40% of the max numbers I wanted for the event. So please register quickly. First up: Winners of the socks to date: Amber Reynolds, Karen Ryan- Realty Executives Diversified Realty, Pauline Relkey - Real Estate, and Lacie Ripplinger. Clearly I need some more guys to sign up. While I will do some posts about some of the fun things planned, and the prizes next week... - I have received a bunch of questions about it, so I thought I would do a little FAQ: (1) What is this? Its an industry specific event around Christmas. It’s light and fun. We have a bunch of activities that you can do with a laptop or tablet, and a phone. We think it will be a good way to connect prior to Christmas in a limited substitute for other events. (2) Who is invited? While I have mentioned Realtors/mortgage brokers, I'd encourage any folks in the related industry to sign up. I may have some appraisers, mortgage brokers, title insurers, etc on hand. (3) Why are you doing this? Because I think we have all been busy, and I miss the parties. I needed something fun to put energy into. Where as we are always happy to work with people, the point of this thing is more fun than anything. If you haven’t worked with us in the past, or if you have no plans on doing so.... you’re still invited. Come participate. :) (4) How does it work? You sign up. We bring you a box of stuff (snacks, gifts, etc) on the day of the event. You sign into zoom, hopefully in a ugly sweater. We have some fun stuff on the front end. We have some games. You may win some other prizes. (5) Do I need to wear an ugly sweater? No but some prizes will be given to those who get into the spirit. So wear your elf ears, or santa suit, or amazing ugly sweater. (6) Hmmm I’ll think about it.... Don’t think too long. :) We have limited spots, and there are some prizes being awarded before the event itself. You get extra entries if you get someone else to sign up as well!

Hey Realtors /mortgage brokers- any August slow down yet? I know there are still a ton of deals closing this month... but usually the active buyers seem to drop off a bit this month. What’s your feel?

Insurance rates have been increasing for a while. Many condominium corps have been dealing with this for a while, and often resulting in significant condo fee increase. Comment made by unit owner at end of article concerned me. There is lots you can do to make sure that unit owners are maintaining things as they should.

For my condominium and not-for-profit clients...I just received information that electronic AGMs are now going to be expressly permitted under some regulatory amendments made. **Edit** The Order in Council is linked. Condominium corporations: https://publications.saskatchewan.ca/#/products/105440

Mainly because I was trying to avoid confusion - I did not advertise the other webinar that I am doing. This one is on condo management issues with COVID-19. It is set for tomorrow at 2:30 pm, and is with Jamie Herle from Cuelenaere LLP in Saskatoon. It will be full - with a max registration of 100 people - soon. We will be making that broadcast shareable as well when it is completed. https://zoom.us//r/9815850736778/WN_S55vdqExRZqA3oQmMh7fFA

Thanks for all that showed up for the webinar. I heard of a couple issues with signing in, etc. Just so you know - we do have a recording - I am just figuring out the best way to share it...there was some glitches on the organizer's end with the web based recording, and I am getting it sorted out with zoom, or we will share in a different format. Keep an eye on my, and Brad page for details shortly.

Realtors/Mortgage Brokers - A couple of things: (1) Tomorrow (Wed) 11am for our webinar on closing deals in this environment - there are some rumours of some legislative changes that may assist the closing of deals - which if in place, we will do our best to comment on. (2) If you have any questions for the webinar, reach out to Brad or I. We will also be taking questions during the session.... (3) Register - Link below! Zoom is an incredibly easy platform to get lined up. https://zoom.us//r/3015849661103/WN_srrxFbJrQaWZNhKsSGDj9Q

Hey - Realtors/Mortgage brokers - would there be any interest in having a webinar on some of the issues we are having in closing deals in this environment, and exploring some what ifs if things get worse? I'm planning on involving a colleague in Saskatoon, and try to get it coordinated by this week sometime. If you think it would be worth it, send me a note or a comment.

You get to avoid most people right now...but if you're buying/selling a house, you are still likely going to need to see your lawyer's miserable mug. Here's why: http://skrealestatelaw.com/covid-19-and-closing-real-estat/

Marc Kelly 03.06.2020

http://skrealestatelaw.com/coronavirus-and-condominiums/ Just another angle to consider when looking at the challenges created by COVID-19. Let's try and be practical, compassionate, and reasonable in our dealings with one another.

I have been a long time volunteer and newer director with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina. I am trying to solicit donations for one of our fundraisers. If you are able to donate, I would appreciate it - every little bit helps. Help me reach my goal! https://www.canadahelps.org/me/4B8FCkc
