Thanks to everyone who came in for nail trims this week and brought a gift or made a donation! This is our first toy haul going to @Cars R Us annual toy drive for kids!!!

This weeks update for Sandra! She got bit on Friday by a very nervous pup but than he was all snuggly and very sorry! We think it may have just been a warning but her hand was too close.

This December we will be in the shop Monday CLOSED Tuesday 9am-8pm Wednesday 9am-8pm ... Thursday 9am-5pm Friday 9am-8pm Saturday 9am-5pm Sunday 9am -8pm Anytime during these hours you can walk in for a nail trim, but we are going to do things a little different this year! Nail trims will be done for a toy donation! We are going to collect toys the whole month of November and December and all the toys will go to the Cars R Us toy drive to ensure every child this year has a toy to open Christmas morning. Many clients feel the need to bring us a gift at Christmas this year we ask if you feel the need, to please trade that in for a toy for a child in need! Thank you from Rainie and Sandra

We won’t be posting all photo shoots this Christmas as I will be using my pro camera and editing each photo and printing them. After your grooming and Christmas appointment you will be able to pick up your 5x7 photo print the following Monday. The pick up is a white metal box by our shop door. Everyone gets one 5x7 per pet and if multiples in the family I will include a group photo as well. We are changing our hours up effective immediately, if youre already booked outside these hours we will be honouring your appointments until 2021. During Covid -19 we became very busy and the staff is starting to take the toll. We all sat down together and decided the best schedule to suit all of our customer needs. Our hearts break today! This is the worst case of mats we have ever seen. SPCA were contacted and on site for the owners to arrive and will be dealing with the case now. The pup was completely shaved off and is feeling better now. No after pictures as the SPCA where present but we have almost a full body shave off pic posted

We would like to introduce our newest addition Azalea Grace Dawn

Good afternoon all my wonderful hoomans and pets! I will be on vacation from this coming Friday till August 10th in beautiful Cape Breton. We will be returning to full time hours August 11th with our new standard baby Azalea While we are away my assistant Sandra will be offering nail trims, bath and blow outs, shave offs, doodle shaves, dematting and brush outs. Ive been training Sandra for 5 months now and she is quite confident in the above services. I will open up our online schedular first the above services only with Sandra. Sandra will not have access to our phone during those times so please only online bookings after Friday as I most likely will not be answering my phone on vacation. Thanks

Anyone that follows us on here and has left one of the 19 URGENT tagged messages, I will get back to you tomorrow. All day Monday from 8am to 9pm I am prepping, cooking and serving the hungry and homeless with my freedom kitchen truck. Just a general PSA. Since covid-19 we closed our doors permanently at the Main Street location. We made many modifications at our home shop to suit the many restrictions in place and have been opened full time here. But because some shops were still closed we accepted another 82 new clients since. With this comes longer wait times. So we are encouraging everyone to set up pre bookings or make sure you book at least 3 weeks in advance. We are only taking clients in one at a ti...me. So please make sure youre on time as it can make every appointment after you overlap. Also please do not arrive early as we can not sanitize between each client when this happens, so when we tell a client we cant take you till your appointment please dont get mad at us, weve put these rules in place to not just protect us but YOU as well! And the biggest issue please do not duck and go under the sign that states only dogs cats and rabbits beyond this point! Thank you all for understanding and we look forward to seeing everyone. We are so fortunate to be able to stay open during this pandemic as there are just two of us in 2 rooms grooming all day keeping all your babies looking fabulous! The beautiful Bijou!!! When Bijou came to us almost a year ago she was completely shave off and growing back in, after requesting a Miami cut. She is now rocking her Miami cut! And she rocks it well as she struts out of the grooming shop!

So after complete clarification and a full deep clean of our grooming salon. We will be re-opening with reduced hours. There will be 30 minute break between each customer to allow us to do a full sanitation of the grooming shop and bathing room. No one will be allowed to stay with their pets we have attached a long red leash to our deck. We ask that you attach your dog to the leash and send us a text or call us to let us know youre here. At home dog grooming: Though many pet parents successfully groom their dogs at home, it will take a bit of time and effort to get your dog comfortable with a routine of at-home grooming, which can help reduce shedding in addition to further deepening your relationship with your dog. How to Brush and Bathe Your Dog... To begin, try brushing your dog a few times a week for a few minutes at a time to create a routine. Brushing is the key to keeping [a dog] clean. I dont recommend a lot of bathing, . If you are going to bathe your dog, brush first to get the heavy dirt out. Putting your dog in a bath before brushing just makes for dirty bath water and an even dirtier dog. Use a slick, metal pin brush know as a rake(especially for dogs with longer hair), which goes through hair easily and pulls out a good deal of dirt, grass and burrs. A shedding blade works well on shorthaired dogs (such as Labradors), getting much of the fine hair off quickly. The important thing is to get your dog accustomed to regular brushing and to brush her while she is standing, as the groomer will, rather than lying down. When bathing your dog, use a higher-quality shampoo, as inexpensive ones can be harsh also diluting the shampoo so it is easier to rinse out completely. How to Trim a Dogs Nails If your dog has white nails, clip until you see the pink (the quick), and if your dog has black nails, clip a little at a time until you see a solid black dot on the tip. Always close the clippers quickly; clipping slowly and using dull clippers can cause chipping and splitting. If you do clip the quick, use a styptic powder such as Kwik Stop to stanch bleeding.

Since Ive been tagged and its been shared on my wall soooo many times...... human poodle cuts $20 wash and blow outs $10 add on. Leave in conditioner is only for the 4 legged, PH level is too low for humans you wont want it anyway. Condition massage is also only for the pooches. But we have bows and bandanas for everyone!!!!

For any of my clients with children at home.... this is a camp I ran last summer and all my kids are extremely sad its not coming back this year do to the virus. I have everything positive and amazing to say about them!

We will be back to grooming out of home again at 56b booth street Dartmouth during this pandemic. All appointments from here on out will be done at the old shop in the lower level at my home. We will not be allowing anyone to stay with their dog or cat at this time and ask if youve been traveling please let us know in advance so we can meet you outside with little to no contact. We understand that babies still need to be groomed so please work with us over the next few weeks to make this as easy as possible

We are postponing our nail trim day till after the covid-19 scare. We will still be open but we are asking clients to drop their dog off and return when they are finished. No one will be allowed to stay with their babies until further notice.

Look what we just got in!!! I used to use the pet head leave in conditioner faithfully 3 years ago than could no longer source it.... well we finally found it and bought them out! This is by far the best leave in I have ever used! And we also now have diamond eye in for those stained eyes, elbows, and bums!!! Both can be located upstairs at Petstuff On The Go
