CALLING ALL PERFORMERS: The Slovenian Society will have its very first virtual program in October (see previous post about the Anniversary program). We will not be able to perform together the way we normally do because of physical distancing and other restrictions. However, we can perform virtually, together with our family and others in our social bubble. The Slovenian community is privileged to have many talented members and families who can sing, dance and play... musical instruments. The Cultural Committee is already busy organizing the celebration, and needs your help. This includes live performances from home, as well as recordings (recent or those from your archives) that you wish to share. WALK AND PICNIC IN MUNDY PARK July26, 2020 SPREHODIN PIKNIK V MUNDY PARKU 26. julija 2020 Slovenian hikers are organizing their traditional annual picnic that will take place on Sunday, July 26, in Mundy Park, Coquitlam. Because of the Coronavirus danger, it will be important to adhere to the physical distancing regulations. We are therefore planning a one hour walk in the park, followed by a picnic and socializing in the open. Everyone should bring their own food and dri...nks, chair or blanket to sit on in the grass. Unfortunately, we won't be able to play games, but at least we can see each other again and enjoy a conversation in person. All of us must keep proper distance and we are not to share our food. People of all ages are invited, but of course everyone needs to feel safe, so the decision to come is entirely yours. The walk will start at 10am, so come on time and park in the 'Mundy Park Hillcrest Parking Lot' on Hillcrest St., close to Austin Ave. In case of foul weather, the event will be postponed.
