One of the last jobs that we had for 2019. This is the fireplace mantle and hearth we did just before xmas for our WONDERFUL repeat clients - Stacey & Peter The electric fireplace was existing and Stacey asked that we create a fireplace and mantle for her. ... The hearth/seat was added during building. The faux stone was supplied by Stacey, she liked the stone so much she purchased it before she had even called us! We all got together and helped her design the final concept Alex created sturdy framing for the stone and tile hearth. We cut down a 6x6, to approx 5x4, cedar post that we had previously salvaged from another project. We then used that cedar for the mantle. Lauren used a combination of techniques, including using charcoal from a firepit, penetrating oil stain and mineral oil to achieve a natural weathered look for the cedar mantle. Stacey had also asked that we stain the mantle as best we could to match her flooring and I have to say, I was pretty darned impressed with my results! The color accents on the faux stone were a very unnatural and vibrant orange so to rectify, Lauren used charcoal to blend the areas into a more natural looking colour without affecting the texture of the stone We had so much fun doing this little project for Stacey & Peter!! Bonus - they got to show it off just in time for Christmas!

All fence panels are the same colour of stain, however one side has direct sunlight almost year round and the other receives almost no direct sun ever.
