We love knowing that our fish go into community lakes around the province. Here's an update on stocking, supported by Alberta Conservation Association at Echo Dale, just outside Medicine Hat. https://chatnewstoday.ca//trout-stocked-at-echo-dale-boat/

Back before the temperatures and snow started falling across most of Alberta, we had a lot of fun helping seniors get in a little fishing time. We were happy to supply some feisty Brown trout (we do a limited run or Browns each year) for this event: https://www.reddeeradvocate.com//red-deer-seniors-fish-fo/

We are so thrilled that we got the chance to help Carewest residents catch some fish. Fishing is a great activity that people of all ages should have the opportunity participate in! https://www.linkedin.com//carewest-innovative-health-care_ #fish #fishing #alberta #rainbowtrout #seniors

The Red Deer Advocate did a story on our family business today. We’re pretty proud of what we’ve accomplished at Smoky Trout Farm Limited. Helping Albertans get more opportunity to fish continues to be our main goal, whether by providing trout for government stocking or by helping other individuals and groups develop thriving private fisheries. https://www.reddeeradvocate.com//red-deer-county-fish-far/

Yesterday Alberta Environment & Parks picked up 2500 fish from Smoky Trout Farm Limited. These trout were used to stock Hasse Lake and were part of a total of 70,000 fish that the government purchased from commercial aquaculture facilities to stock recreational fisheries across the province. This is in addition to the fish raised in AEP’s aquaculture facilities. It is really great to see this government doing so much to support angling in Alberta, especially in a year that has seen a 30% increase in the purchase of fishing licences. We appreciate Minister Jason Nixon’s leadership on this file and his willingness to have his ministry partner with the aquaculture industry to create more fishing opportunities for Alberta’s anglers.

1844 Rainbow Trout were stocked at the Len Thompson Pond yesterday by Smoky Trout Farm sponsored by the Lacombe Fish and Game Association. We were able to contr...ibute to the stocking through royalties from the Blindman Brewing Five of Diamonds Pilsner. Thank you for supporting local businesses so we can support local fishing opportunities! #lenthompson #lacombe #lenthompsonpond #rainbowtrout #fishstocking
