Phones have changed so much over the years! Who remembers the old phones with the rotary dials? I sure do! Growing up in northern Ontario we had a 4 party line (you could get a private line if you paid extra). You could pick up the phone and hear the neighbors talking which meant you had to wait to use the phone until they were finished. Or tell them to get off so you could use it! . That definitely happened sometimes. To call long distance the operator would come on and ask for your phone number. If you gave someone else’s number they would get billed for your long distance call. Now our phones are used more as a computer than a talking device. What’s next?
