So Sorry To Hear 19.11.2020

With Climate and ecological emergency now firmly in the public discourse we need to think about how we deal with our dead - cremation or burial, natural burial ...or lawn cemetery burial. Natural burial is the only benign and sustainable option, especially when it’s part of a wildlife friendly landscape and soil. We need to demand this from our parish, district and city councils. We need to resist the general herding of the bereaved into crematoria, even now at this time of COVID-19. A Muslim family I met were told that no burial could take place and were forced to cremate. Choices are being limited unnecessarily. There are more than 270 natural burial sites in the U.K. and more in planning. Here are two things you can do to plan for sustainable funerals. 1. Write to your council and ask what provision they are making for natural burial. 2. Head to my website and look for Articles. I hope you will find them eloquent and illuminating. I aim to offer options that are gentle on ourselves as well as the planet. . . #naturalburial #sustainablefunerals #naturalshrouds #woolshrouds #simplefunerals @naturaldeathcentre #greenfuneraldirectors #independentfuneraldirectors #leafcocoon. I'll be sharing my passion for Natural Burial and how we’re doing in British Columbia, on Thursday, September 24th. Natural Burial just makes sense to me. The ...earth feeds and nourishes us. In the end, our bodies are what we can give back to feed and nourish the earth. Dying green. It’s kinder to the environment and a gentler process for families and loved ones. It’s so simple and I believe that there ought to be a natural burial option for every community in BC. This Free event (donations welcome) is being hosted by the new and awesome Death Doula Network BC Join me (Nicola Finch), Jo-Anne Haun & Karen Hendrickson, on Thursday, September 24th 6:30 to 8:30pm PST Sign up on Eventbrite. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/death-doula-network-bc-natural- See you there!
