Every week I hear of another well known company selling out or closing the doors during this incredibly harsh downturn. The oil and gas industry hasn’t made a comeback yet and folks just can’t hold on anymore. I feel sad seeing the industry turned on its head and faces I used to see daily or weekly moving on. With all the rain the ground is saturated! Sometimes even loaders are too heavy to place mats. This little Access Mat job at the Red Deer Water Treatment Plant was required so the crane and pumper trucks can get in to the new building being constructed. The ground was much too soft for a loader to get in without making a mess. South Fork’s solution was using our tracked bobcat with a mat grapple to minimize ruts and mess as well as navigate the mud (see how much the bobcat is sunk in the mud just sitting there!). LPS Crane’s 100Ton unit had no issues once the mats were placed down.
