Due to the weather conditions and visibility, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula has cancelled garbage collection for today, December 1, 2020 and has rescheduled it for Friday, December 4th. This affects Sections 1 and 2 in Albemarle and Oliphant areas. Please bring your garbage in from the curb to prevent it from getting buried under the snow or split open by the snowplows. Please place it out for collection on Friday by 7:00 am. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
It’s a Toilet, not a Trash Can Products labeled flushable are not safe to flush down the toilet no matter if you live in town or have a septic system! They don’t break down so they can get caught in your own internal plumbing and/or sewers and cause a clog, which can back up sewage and cause flooding. Other toilet paper alternatives such as napkins, paper towels, and facial tissue, while made of paper, are not meant to break down in the wastewater stream and will also clog plumbing.
