Lot's! Lotsa music, exams, recitals.....LOVE this time of year. The children get to shine after so much hard work and the parents listen to their Little Liszt's and simply enjoy. Tips for performing? Just pop me of a message any time..The photos attached......how a FUN-KEY CROW Studio looks after 4 hours of teaching.......and it's getting more congested as I find more pieces......from Grandma Jorstad decades ago <3 The Chalk board from my students to thank Glory St. Germain for the amazing workbooks <3T

YAY! The Royal Conservatory of Music has moved into the 21st Century! Technical requirements for Grades 2, 9 and 10 have eased up. Already I have 2 students who were hesitant to take on the higher levels as examinations now excited and encouraged :) Kids want to play and have limited time.......especially the high achievers. Thanks RCM for making the changes necessary to allow all students the opportunity to continue their studies: at a manageable level <3

Have you ever asked your kids to play ‘that song from earlier in the year and discover they can’t? Yes? Well, why not? If they’re playing more advanced music now how come they can’t manage simpler stuff that they played very well just a few months ago? Good question and here’s the solution: POP Music: not Taylor Swift Play Often Please. If you refer to your practice binder (which I know all of you parents do every week, hint hint) you will most likely see several pieces ass...igned as review. We like to assign material the kids can play easily for a few reasons: 01. It gets their fingers warmed up 02. It gets their minds warmed up and focused 03. It creates a feeling of success before tackling the new assigned pieces. 04. It gives the kids a repertoire to play for guests & grannies. 05. It gives them an opportunity to really fine tune and perfect the music. 06. It gives them CONFIDENCE! See more
