I’m starting the year with moving all the furniture around in my office (for the 50th time since last January ) a clean desk, and looking forward to unwrapping my new 2021 Planner. Last week I was out on the trails and the larch trees were the colour of gold. This is a beautiful tree and one that I don't remember noticing growing up in Vermont as I have here. It has a soft needle and cone and in the fall when all other leaves have fallen, the larch stands in full colourful glory. There is so much beauty around us and I appreciate having the time to be able to get out and enjoy it, no matter the weather. Happy Sunday, friends!

I'm so happy that I have been able to offer a safe space for people to feel at home, away from home. This past week was Small Business Week and it got me thinking even more about choosing to support local businesses as often as I can, including this upcoming holiday season. Over the past 7 months I've heard of a lot of businessses making changes to their business models to adjust to the changing times, but...unfortunately there was and still is, a lot of businesses that weren't able to make it through this pandemic which is so sad to hear about when it potentially could ha...ve been avoided. It's disheartening to hear of small businesses having to close their doors while billionaires like Jeff Bezos (owner of Amazon) and the Walton family (owners of Walmart) just keep increasing their riches. If we all challenged ourselves to support our own local economy, it would surely thrive which also means keeping people just like you & I's dreams alive! Supporting local businesses sometimes takes a little bit of extra research to source what you're looking for, or a longer drive to pick up the product but 100% it is always worth it! As the weather gets colder, I immediately lean into spending more time in the kitchen, after all it's where I feel most comfortable and at peace.
