This was something a little different for me, however in order to expand our range of art, as an artist we must step outside our comfort zone.. so that's exactly what I did today. This painting was created using 7 different palette knife shapes, acrylic paint and acrylic medium for increased texture on the egg yolk. Mandalas are traditionally used as meditative tools and spiritual symbols. 2. Carl Jung introduced the modern era to Mandala drawing as a form of self-discovery. 3. Anything drawn in a circle or a circular image is considered a Mandala and anyone can draw one, you don’t need to be an artist. 4. They come in many forms. Drawing on paper or parchment is most common, but sand, sculptural, textile and mural mandalas are other known forms, just to name a few. 5. They can represent the Universe in its infinite wisdom, or a piece of our inner-self or soul that provides guidance and direction. 6. Mandala's are typically created with an intention. Either a broad concept for meditation such as Inner Peace or Love, or a personal intention for inner guidance and insight. 7. We will re-access things in the new year and hopefully be able to re-schedule any cancelled classes. Due to the large amount of covid-19 exposures issued this evening by the NS public health authorities, we can't in good conscious welcome you into the studio. We love being together and creat...ing however, right now the amount of community spread within Nova Scotia is substantial and we need to do our part to help keep everyone safe.
