Huge thanks to @liliviolapilates for an incredible birthday session today! With COVID restrictions preventing in-person training inside, she just moved a reformer into the parking lot. Thankfully, the weather gods cooperated - it only started sprinkling as we wrapped up. Had to start with my jacket on but by the end I was shaking and sweating all over. What a workout!!!!

I'm starting online Group Classes starting next week: A Basic-Intermediate Level Mat class on Tuesdays at 7pm & Thursdays at 8am. Cost is $20/class (a COVID savings of $15!). I am open to other options if there is interest (for example a beginner class for those who have never done Pilates, other days/times, privates or semi-privates). Due to the home schooling situation, I am limited to early mornings and evenings, though. Please reach out if you have questions, session requests or want to join in! Classes are capped at 8 participants.

Due to popular demand, I will be offering a second Focus on Fundamentals class on Wednesdays at 8am PST. It is a lot foundational work, perfect for beginners or more experienced practitioners curious to find out where they tend to cheat. It is slow, deep, thoughtful work meant to increase strength, flexibility and awareness about how you move. The class is run through Zoom for 55 minutes with a maximum of 8 participants. As both a review and a celebration of what we just did over the month of March, @pilatesgypsy and I present our interpretation of the Contrology Mat Series (as faithfully as our bodies allow) from Joseph Pilates original publication: Return to Life. Transitions are an often neglected part of Pilates but in this version where we only get one repetition of each exercise, transitions are key for flow. We are far from perfect, but we are moving, having fun and working hard. Ridiculous outfits, silly hairdos and lots of laughing - because it is April 1st after all :-)

Felt like an appropriate exercise for today, the first day of Corona Home School, as I struggled to keep control over 2 kids and a dog while establishing some balance between productivity and play. March MATness Day 21: Teaser! These beauty spring days with all ski resorts closed are such a tease for those of us who live to ski. So I climbed up Blackcomb today to get my fix and felt inspired to do the exercise of the day up there. But Im not nearly strong enough to do a teaser with ski boots so I opted for this variation where I tried to keep my skis steady.
