Music friends Ian and Caroline live in Vic West, and joined by Graeme they make up The Carolina Bluebirds. This trio do lots of rich old tunes from the 20s and 30s, and theyve gigged at Spiral before, but in this video are treating us at Open Mic with a sweet old tune, Where Shadows Fall. The Mitchell Sisters performed this song "The Echo of the Drum" for their dear Mom when she passed. Their Uncle Rob Webster wrote the poetry, and Nancy arranged the chords/tune. Mike wrote this song last year, thinking about our political, social, environmental challenges. Today, we decided to film it in our back yard and share, for the challenges the whole world is going through this year in the face of Covid 19 and its effect on all of us.

Los Gringos Locos (Mike Sampson and Al Sabourin) was the last gig that happened at the Spiral, on March 14th. Now, all of us are playing music at home and sharing. my Mike (Big Mike) and I (Joy) will be sharing some videos from musicians who have played at Spiral before, or who may be playing here once we are all through this tough time. We look forward to Los Gringos Locos playing again at the Spiral!

Hi Folks, all evening music events are cancelled through to the end of April. This includes the Monday night Old Timey Jam, the Wednesday Swing Orchestra, the Thursday night Open Mic, and all Friday/Saturday eve music gigs. Well re-assess as time goes on. Her voice has many personalities; it can be commanding, haunting, or charismatic. Emilies collection of songs transport the listener into her gallery of impressions. She invites the listener to stroll through hallways of melodies, be amused by her firecracker candor, and brighten up alongside her clever turns of phrase. Tonight features Vancouver talent Dru Yates, who will open the show. ~ p.w.y.c. Were looking forward to visiting these travelling musicians :)

Peter always puts on a great show with tunes by Stan Rogers, Elvis Presley, Marty Robbins, Hoyt Axton, and more tunes folks are prone to sing along to! Aside from familiar tunes, Peter usually includes one or two fine flamenco-style songs -- so if you enjoy fine guitar work, please come on out :)
