SGD will be open June 5th to 18th for emergency and urgent dental issues. Our regular hygiene appointments will resume June 19th. If you had an appointment scheduled during our office closure a member of our team will be proactively reaching out to you in the next couple weeks to reschedule.... There will be a few changes that will take place for future appointments, such as pre screening questions and not being able to have as many people in our waiting room. All of these things will be explained when we call to confirm/reschedule your appointment. We look forward to seeing everyone and taking care of your dental health!

To our valued patients at Spring Garden Dentistry: We would like to thank you for your patience during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of April 1, 2020 our office is closed to all patients, as mandated by the Provincial Dental Board of NS. Should you have a dental emergency (swelling, pain that is not controlled by OTC pain medications, uncontrolled bleeding) please call 902-429-1752 and our doctors will do their best to manage the emergency over the phone. Should you require treatment you will be referred to a designated Dental Emergency Clinic that is properly equipped and staffed to treat patients safely. Stay safe and stay positive!

Important update on emergency care: At Nova Dental, we take the oral health of our patients very seriously and we are aware of our role as part of the greater h...ealth care team. Our Dental Board has advised that we temporarily suspend elective dental treatment but we are still treating patients with dental emergencies. There has never been a time during which it is more important to not clog up the hospital emergency rooms and physician's offices. If you have a dental emergency, regardless of if you are a patient of Nova Dental, please call our office, 902-864-4658, you will be given one of our phone number’s, and a dentist will contact you. An emergency is: heavy bleeding, swelling or infection that makes it hard to swallow or breathe, a tooth that has been knocked out, or severe pain. Our office waiting area is large enough to accommodate social distancing of 6 ft and questions regarding flu-symptoms will be asked over the phone prior to you being given an appointment time.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as of March 16th the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia has advised all dental offices in Nova Scotia to suspend any non-essential and elective dental services. At this time we are cancelling any patients schedule between March 16th and March 27th. Our team at SGD completely supports this decision as the health and safety of our patients and of our team is and always has been our top priority. With that being said, we are still allotting t...ime for patients who are experiencing dental emergencies. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, please call our office at 902-429-1752. Your dentist's cell number will be listed for you to contact or you can leave a message, we will be checking our messages daily and we’ll call you back with an emergency appointment time. In the event that you do need to be seen for an emergency appointment, we want you to know that our team will be following strict clinic sterilization/sanitation procedures. In addition to this, all emergency patients are being screened with the following questions to ensure that our facility remains COVID-19 free: 1. Are you feeling ill? (sore throat, cough, fever, or any general sickness) 2. Have you been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19? 3. Have you travelled or have you been in close contact with anyone who has travelled outside of the region in the past 14 days? Stay healthy, stay safe - we’re all in this together!

If you have an appointment scheduled with us but you answer yes to any of the questions below we ask that you please call our office to determine if we need to reschedule your appointment. Have you travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days? Have you been in close contact (within 2 meters) with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19? Have you been in close contact to a person with a fever OR a new onset (or exacerbation of chronic) cough who has travelled outside of Canada within the past 14 days prior to their illness onset?

Your dentist and hygienist play an important role in educating you and your child on how to brush and can help you choose the right toothbrush for you. We encourage parents to bring kids in six months after their first tooth comes in or at 1 year old, whichever comes first! If you have questions or concerns before then never hesitate to contact your dentist.
