The Black Clergy Network in The United Church of Canada has offered a prayer of support for the Rev. Michael Blair, as he begins his new role as the General Sec...retary, General Council. In part, the prayer reads: It is with joy and hopeful anticipation that we, members of the Black Clergy Network of The United Church of Canada, celebrate and welcome you as the new General Secretary, General Council of The United Church of Canada. As you move into this ministry, we bring prayers of gratitude and of hope. If we could, we would encircle you, lay on hands and pray a blessing. Even though we cannot do this in person, in the Spirit may you know our presence right there with you. MEESY EARTH DAY Greetings from the St Mary’s-St Andrew’s Messy Church Team. We had planned to have an event to celebrate Earth Day but of course we can’t meet in person. So instead we have put together a package of materials: Story, Prayer and Song, 5 Activity Sheets, and some ideas for earth-related snacks. We have emailed this out to folks who often attend. If you would like a package, email Aileen at [email protected] or call her at 737-2785. Yes, we know Earth Day was last week, but we do need to celebrate the earth every week. Blessings

Although the St Andrew's Peace Garden is out of bounds for visitors, and therefore we cannot hold a vigil for all those affected by the tragedy in Nova Scotia, there is glass container with lights - in lieu of a candle - and a message that offers love and strength and courage in solidarity. This will stay for the rest of this week as our way of caring in place of the vigil which our community most certainly would have held..

This Thanksgiving, let's give thanks. From now until next Monday, get all your senses involved and be on the search for people who don't often get thanked for t...heir presence in your life. When you find them, thank them! (That might be a verbal thank you, or a note, or a phone call / text message / PM / DM / singing telegram or some other way...) If you want to try something in addition, after you've offered them thanks, take a moment to chat with God about that person... and maybe give thanks there, too! (Image: rb)

Easter Greetings from St Andrew’s United Church. The virus pandemic has meant many changes. The church doors are closed, but the community of St. Andrew’s certainly is not inactive. Though we are unable to gather weekly as many of us are used to doing, the Church is still very much open and vibrant. In this time of such uncertainty it is such an honour to be a part of a church family that once again has risen to the challenge. We are here for each other in any way that ...makes sense and above all we are not alone- God Walks With Us! Worship services are being sent out by e-mail to anyone on our email list. A hard copy is delivered (safely) to anyone who would like it in this format. If you would like to receive the Worship bulletin, please email [email protected] or leave a message at 737-3131 (the machine is checked twice weekly). Check out the United Church website https://www.united-church.ca/ which will give information about on-line worship services including the weekly message from the Moderator (see Moderator’s Blog). The Pastoral Care Team is trying to reach out to members of the congregation by phone. If you would like a phone or Zoom visit, please leave a message or email as above. Blessings and Peace in these challenging times.

So as not to be a place where the virus could be spread, St Andrew's United Congregation decided yesterday (15th) to not hold public worship for the next few weeks. We are exploring some options to share worship online or through Facebook. Stay tuned.
