This is a fantastic deal on an excellent series of books. The authors delve into The Apostles' Creed, The Lord's Prayer, and the Ten Commandments in a way that is accessible for all. A great addition to any library. https://lexhampress.com//192064/christian-essentials-series

This Sunday, October 25 we are returning to worship *inside* our church building for the first time since early March. YAY! But also, YIKES! We're confidently cautious. Or are we cautiously confident? Either way, we can do this together. Watch this short video to learn more about what you can expect this Sunday and beyond and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. ALSO, and this is important, if you're one of those people who won't be resumin...g indoor worship with us at this time but WOULD like a home-communion visit let us know and we'll be there! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2ThPB1Hkcw

Catch Sunday's service here if you missed it. From the sermon: "The gospel is God’s treasure entrusted to the church but for the sake of the world. It’s good news for the world and it has the power to transform the world, and it will. That’s why we must not keep it to ourselves. We can’t afford to be risk-averse with the treasure of the gospel. No, Jesus is inviting us to take a risk. Don’t bury it in the ground or hide it in a box, take it out and show it off and spread it around. Hide it under a bushel? No! I’m going to let it shine!" https://parishofcraighurstandmidhurst.org//worship-for-no/

Patience [is] the basic constituent of Christianity...the power to wait, to persevere, to hold out, to endure to the end, not to transcend one’s own limitations, not to force issues by playing the hero or the titan, but to practice the virtue that lies beyond heroism, the meekness of the lamb which is led. (Hans Urs von Balthasar)

Today the church commemorates Saint Luke the Evangelist. A physician who became a witness to the risen Lord and subsequently wrote a good chunk of the New Testament (The Gospel According to Luke, The Book of Acts). A reminder that God calls people from all walks of life into his mission! Let us pray, Almighty God, who calledst Luke the Physician, whose praise is in the Gospel, to be an Evangelist, and Physician of the soul: May it please thee that, by the wholesome medicines of the doctrine delivered by him, all the diseases of our souls may be healed; through the merits of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

From Sunday's sermon: "And when the landowner gets his labourers what does he do? He sends them into his vineyard. And Jesus has called you so that he can send you out. Just like he sent Jonah to Nineveh to announce the good news there. That’s why at the end of the liturgy today Deacon Tom is going to stand up and tell you all to go on and get. Maybe you thought you were going to get to put your feet up but there’s work to be done. Jesus is sending you into his vineyard, into the world that he loves, and he wants you to tend it and nurture it so that the gospel can grow there, so that faith can grow there, so that hope and love can grow there." https://parishofcraighurstandmidhurst.org//worship-for-se/
