September 2, 2020 September has always been an exciting month at Stage West. We would be welcoming a new cast, training new employees and we would be kicking off our new season. Unfortunately, due to the Global Pandemic this year will be different, and we will be pushing back our new season and our re-opening at this time. This decision is difficult. But the uncertainty brought on by the spread of Covid-19, the restrictions in place by Alberta Health Services and because the... continued safety of our Customers, Cast and Staff is our top priority we feel it's prudent to take a more cautious approach in our re-opening. We are hoping that Alberta is moving in the right directions, and we will be monitoring the situation as more schools, businesses, and theatres re-open. Our hope is that Covid-19 case numbers will drop to a level that allows Alberta Health Services to allow us to reopen in an environment where we are laughing or singing and eating together again, without as many concerns, so you can feel relaxed and enjoy an outing here at Stage West. As soon as we have confirmation that we can open safely, we will be announcing our new season and start contacting all of our customers who had reservations that were cancelled because of the outbreak. Once again, thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this pandemic period, and we are looking forward to having the pleasure of serving you soon. Until then, stay safe and well.

We are very excited that Alberta is moving into Phase 2 of the relaunch. It will take us some more time before we’re able to reopen due to some restrictions that are still in place. We will work with guidance from Alberta Health Services and the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association to ensure we can safely resume to full operation.... Once we know what reopening would look like, then it would take us a few weeks to get our actors in town, rehearsed and ready to perform, and at that time we will contact all of our customers, whose reservations were affected by the COVID-19 shut down and our hope is to have performances by the end of the summer. Update We at Stage West are continuing to monitor the situation with Covid-19. We had hoped, optimistically, that we would be able to continue our operation as of April 7, but it has become apparent that will not be the case. We’ll continue to follow the recommendations set forth by Alberta Health Services, and as soon as they inform us that we can resume our operation, as normal, then we will announce our plans for the remainder of this season, as well as our plans for the 2...020/21 season. Stage West has been a part of Calgary for over 35 years, and we eagerly look forward to continue to bring you the best entertainment, food and service. All of us at Stage West wish you and your family a safe journey through this crisis, and we look forward to serving you in the very near future.

-UPDATE- We at Stage West like to transport our customers to other places. Like the Greek Isles in Mamma Mia or the mean streets of New Jersey in Jersey Boys, but today we have to do our part in the real world. The Alberta Government has made the recommendation asking to have group events cancelled in hopes that we can help curb the spread of Covid-19, so we at Stage West will be suspending our operation from March 16 until April 7, 2020.... We have been a proud part of Calgary since 1982, and we are very thankful for the continued support of our customers. Over the next few weeks, we will be contacting everyone who is currently booked in, during the affected period, to make alternative arrangements with you.
