Hi Everyone If you click on the date in the church webpage (link below), you will see the bulletin for this week. Kindly look over the announcements both 'inside' the bulletin and on the back page, as it were. We also celebrate with Bruce and Kelly McPherson, along with William and James, the safe arrival of Alexander Bruce (9lb 7oz)! Both Kelly and baby Alexander are doing well.... I had hoped we could be live-streaming/recording the service this weekend; but alas that won't be happening. Rest assured, we are working on it! Stay safe, Tim https://standrews-amherstburg.com/wo/bulletins-and-sermons/

Our first in-person service since Covid 19 started.

We are, as many of you know, meeting in-person this Sunday (Sept 6th) for the first time since the COVID shutdown. This is therefore a time of transition, as befitting Labour Day weekend. Nevertheless, we appreciate that many will want to continue with some kind of on-line presence, for all kinds of reasons. This we are actively planning to do; I ask for your patience while we get all the required technology in place. I encourage you to keep looking on the News and Videos... page of the St. Andrew’s website for updates. Blessings Tim

Hi Everyone, Here's St. Andrew's "on-line" Worship Service for Sunday, August 30, 2020. Today’s topic is on Jesus walking on the water (Matt 14:22-33). And not only that, Jesus invites Peter to walk on the water too! What are we to make of this? This is one of the so-called nature miracles that challenges a physicist like me; an individual healing is easier to accept than something as dramatic as this! I think that instead of getting bogged down with the question, Did ...it happen, and if so how?, it’s better to ask, What does this mean? In other words, How would this story be understood by Jews of the day? I will explore that, as well as consider what it all might mean for us today. Again, my gratitude to Spencer and to all the participants in this week's service. Blessings, Tim https://youtu.be/-AwXX3Ms2F8

Hi Everyone, I am back in action after a delightful break! Here's St. Andrew's "on-line" Worship Service for Sunday, August 23, 2020. ... While I typically follow the Lectionary, I feel that some interesting topics have gone by over the last month, some of which I can’t resist preaching upon! Today’s topic is therefore the familiar story of Jesus feeding the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish a Sunday School favourite. Yet what are we to make of this story as adults? I think we should take it seriously and ask, Why do all 4 gospel writers include it in their accounts? What does it say about Jesus? as well as, What might it mean for us today? My gratitude to Spencer and to all the participants in this week's service. Stay cool and safe have a great week. Blessings, Tim https://youtu.be/Nl4ObJYBOLQ

This is my essay contribution to a recently published book, "Open and Relational Leadership: Leading with Love." I hope you find it thought provoking . . .
