As we start a New Year, we are reminding our customers of the importance of maintaining the integrity of your transformer fleets . Rust, corrosion, impact damage, leaks and other potential mechanical issues can often be identified and remedied fairly quickly. Be storm ready. With Hurricane Teddy approaching and a very active storm season right now here are some quick double checks to help make sure you are prepared. 1. Unplug any electrical equipment that you are not using 2. Turn off any electronics while not in use 3. Set your refrigerator and freezer to the coldest settings to try and keep food fresh longer if you were to lose power.... 4. Lower antenna’s and satellite dishes 5. Check yard for any possible projectiles (garbage cans, flower pots, yard tools) 6. If you have a bbq make sure to have propane on hand if the power is out for an extended period. 7. Have an emergency kit ready with flashlights and batteries. 8. Store clean water in your tub. 9. Charge your cell phone and any power banks if available 10. Make sure your car has a full tank of gas. 11. Have non perishable food items ready for each person in the house. 12. Have your local power company outage number ready to report any down lines as soon as possible if you see them. See more

It’s Transformer Tuesday! Here you see our crews working on a replacement of a Bushing and Gasket on a Transformer. We drained enough oil to be able to replace the bushing and gasket, Provided Dry Air positive pressure before and during replacement, installed new bushing and gasket, confirmed no leaks and refilled the oil in the transformer.

It’s Transformer Tuesday! For this job we travelled to the clients site and drained two CT’s (Current Transformers). We then took the oil back to the shop and tested for PCB’s (Polychlorinated biphenyls) 3000 Litres of oil was drained, tested and then disposed of. #transformertuesday #transformer #transfluidservices #starkoil #transformeroil
