As you all know it is New Years Day that is most important to the JC and Nikkei community. So... I just want to send my best wishes for you and your family and friends for a better 2021. I hope we can be released from the grip of the C-19 virus and we can meet in person with our family and friends and fellow Judoka. I hope we can be on the tatami together and practice and train together.... I hope we can have some shiais again. I hope we are organizing the PAC 2022 maybe even Steveston Tournament in Nov. Alan S
Final U10/U12 Judo online session before the Christmas break is coming up on Monday. Parents are invited to join us for some partner work. Sensei Dylan, Sensei Curtis and Sensei Yuki will be instructing!

Had another excellent Zoom lesson for U10/U12 classes! Remember every Monday at 630p. Thanks Senseis: Curtis, Yuki, Kojima and Al for hosting. Kaede and Finn were great demonstration help as well!!! Next week we will be talking about and sharing thoughts about the virtue of Modesty in Judo.

SJC Participant Procedures Video. Procedures maybe adjusted as classes proceed.
The following Steveston Sensei will be honoured at the November 28th Judo BC Virtual Awards Celebrations via Zoom. Sensei Isao Kuramoto will be presented with the Steve Sasaki Award which is given to a JBC member who exemplifies the principals of Kodokan Judo. Sensei Yuki Yokosawa will be honoured as the Female Coach of the Year for 2019/2020... Sensei Au Yen Ding will be honoured for his many years of service as referee. Sensei Ian Ryder will be honoured as the U21 Male Athlete of the Year! The awards will be presented at the November 28th Virtual Awards Celebration via Zoom. This year’s theme is a Pajama Party, and we invite all award recipients and attendees to wear their favorite or funniest PJs and attend the event from home or, if permitted, from their club or current training venue. Prizes will be given for the best individual PJs and the best group/family PJs. Preregistration is required to access this free online event.
