Below is a message sent to the campus community related to recent travel in New Brunswick: To all staff, faculty and students, The province of New Brunswick is cautioning people who travelled to Zones 1 (Moncton region) and 5 (Campbellton region) within the province during the holiday weekend to observe orange-level guidelines for 14 days afterwards. Those guidelines include limiting contacts to a two-household bubble (the Nova Scotia equivalent is the consistent social grou...p of ten), avoiding gatherings (note -- classes are acceptable with mask use and distancing in place), wearing a mask at all indoor and outdoor public places, being vigilant in self-monitoring, and calling 811 if symptomatic. For your reference, here is a link to New Brunswick’s health zones and communities: https://nbhc.ca/maps-health-zones-and-nbhc-communities Thank you. Epic at Keppoch! Many StFX students who stayed in the Antigonish Bubble over the Thanksgiving weekend enjoyed hiking and other activities at Keppoch. Buses provided by the university took students to the outdoor recreation facility where activities were planned for students.

Managing real funds on behalf of a client. That’s what a group of students in StFX’s Gerald Schwartz School of Business will be doing this year. Of note, the client is their university. StFX’s Board of Governors has approved and hired Xaverian Capital, a Schwartz School student society, as an internal investment management team to manage $500,000 of the university’s endowment funds. It's an unmatched opportunity, and Schwartz School of Business Dean Dr. Tim Hynes says he could not be more pleased the university’s Board of Governors hired the Schwartz School students to serve as one of their Endowment Fund investment managers https://www.stfx.ca/about/news/Xaverian-Capital
Here is StFX President, Dr. Andy Hakin's interview with 989 XFM's Ken Farrell which aired October 8th. Some very good information about enrolment and the latest happenings around StFX and the Town, including well-wishes for Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Message regarding Thanksgiving Weekend Dear Students, I am writing in response to concerned emails from students seeking guidance about:... travelling home for Thanksgiving, and interacting with others on campus following primary or secondary contacts with a non- isolating person. The most frequent question is I am planning to spend time with my grandparents and now I am not so sure this is a good decision. How do I decide? Public Health advised us that individuals who may have come into contact should: monitor for symptoms take precautions such as: o physical distancing, o wearing a mask and o practicing diligent hygiene/sanitization of shared spaces. Typically, we do not wear masks and social distance when we are among our household/close social group, however, choosing to follow these practices reduces the risk of spreading the virus should COVID 19 be present. Be aware that people from outside the Bubble may also be home for the long weekend. Be aware your risk of exposure increases in crowded bars or other social gatherings with people you don’t know. We have very low active cases of the virus in the Atlantic Bubble. However, we don’t always know when we are in the company of those who are not being diligent and whose careless actions could, in the worst- case scenario, end up sending us all home. Please educate yourself on the ways that you can lower your risk and socialize safely by accessing the Safer Socializing Module found on your Moodle Page. If you decide to stay here for Thanksgiving, please consider participating in the activities we have planned. I am grateful for the many thoughtful and caring students demonstrating sincere personal leadership and commitment to our community. Have a safe Thanksgiving weekend, Elizabeth Yeo Vice President, Students StFX University
