Please pray for Metropolitan Photios! From Bishop Clement Sunday evening. We heard the terrible news that, this morning, His Eminence, Metropolitan Photios of Demetrias, who was on his way to Lamia to liturgize at our Church there, crashed the car that he was driving and is now undergoing surgery in the hospital in Lamia, since he has injuries in his spleen, in his diaphragm, possibly in one of his lungs, and in his right leg. They will keep him in intensive care. Let us hope... that this accident will not prove fatal, but that he will return to normal, albeit after a long ordeal. We sincerely pray that the Lord Who permitted it will grant him an auspicious outcome. We beseech everyone to pray for Metropolitan Photios, who is very dear to all of us, a man who is always affable and courteous, an outstanding Hierarch, and also the Chief Secretary of our Holy Synod. I still cannot believe it. He was here for the Feast Day of our Monastery on Thursday, and yesterday we were together as late as noon at the Church of the Holy Apostles in Daphne, where we were present for the anniversary of the Enthronement of Archbishop Kallinikos. May the Panagia help us! See more
