"The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals. I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." Mark 1:7-8
Happy Epiphany After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. (Matthew 2:1-3) Those who wish to receive communion may do so this week from January 4th to January 6th from 8:30am to 12pm noon.

Today the church celebrates the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. This Solemnity marks the end of the churches liturgical year and marks the beginning of the Advent season. As this liturgical year comes to an end let us reflect on the past year here at the church the joys that we have been able to share, as well as the deep spiritual sacrifice we have had to make and continue to make to ensure the safety of all our community. This year has been a different year then most and a very difficult one, but let us continue to pray to the Lord Christ the King and ask for him to intercede for us during our times of need, let us ask the Lord to bring an end to the pandemic so that we may be able to celebrate this liturgical year without interruption.
On this #RedWednesday, let us pray for those persecuted around the world. May every being, regardless of their religion, live in peace and harmony without any kind of persecution. #prayforpeace

Today the church celebrates an important feast. The feast of the Lateran Basilica. The feast of the Lateran Basilica marks the importance of the physical building in which the holy mass is celebrated. As we know the building of the church does not make one a Catholic, but it does however inherently increase the presents of God on earth through the building of the church. The ArchBasilica of St. John Lateran in which the feast is celebrated to, is considered mother church of a...ll churches in the Roman Catholic faith. It is the head church of the Diocese of Rome, and serves as the seat of the Roman Pontiff. It is dedicated to Christ the Saviour, St. John the Evangelist and St. John the Baptist. Let us pray that all churches around the world are kept safe and free harm, that there doors be open to all those who wish to enter them, and that the people they house feel closer to the Lord. Amen!! The photos were taken by a member of our parish community who visited the basilica, the first image is of the exterior with a large statue of Christ in its centre, the second image is a statue of our Patron Saint Jude Thaddeus inside the basilica, the third image is of the main altar and grotto.
We would like to once again Thank all our Volunteers who have helped us and continue to help us during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your contribution to our parish community is insurmountable. Each of our volunteers brought something unique in there service to our Parish that helped make sure our community was safe and that the Holy Mass was able to go on. Your assistance during this difficult time is a true testament to your love for Christ and his church. We would not have been a...ble to reopen with out your countless time and help. We once again Thank You all for your service to St. Jude’s Parish. This morning Cardinal Collins celebrated a mass dedicated to the Volunteers of the Archdioceses for their continued assistance during COVID-19.
