T’was the week before Christmas, and all through the store, St. Lawrence Pools’ tub was filling with toys, and it still needs lots more! ... Please bring any new unopened toys to our Belleville location to help us support the Belleville firefighter’s toy drive!

With Christmas around the corner, we are still trying to fill our St. Lawrence Pools hot tub with toys for kids! In support of the Belleville Firefighter’s toy drive, we need your help to make this holiday season a little brighter for those that need it! Is your hot tub or pool giving you eye and skin irritation? This is most commonly from one of two reasons: 1 pH imbalance test your current pH level, and add Bioguard’s Lo ‘N Slo if pH is high and Balance Pak 200 is pH is low, as needed 2 Contaminant build-up creating chloramines - add Bioguard’s BurnOut or BurnOut 35 to oxidize contaminants, and add Pool Tonic, Natural Clarifier or Polysheen Blue to enhance filtration... To prevent skin or eye irritation, keep your pool water balanced, shock weekly, and backwash the filter when needed!

Foaming is common in spas, and it is caused by the build-up of organic contaminants or oftentimes soap, oil, or body lotions in the water. With proper circulation foam should dissipate naturally, but for more immediate results: Apply Anti Foam to get rid of foam quickly Add SpaGuard’s Spa Lite to oxidize contaminants... Add Polysheen to remove contaminants that may be causing the foam Rinsing off before entering your spa will help prevent foaming by reducing the contaminants in the water. Stay tuned for more tips!

No one likes cloudy water! Cloudy water is quite common for pool owners, as sources include improper water balance, low sanitizer levels and/or lack of routine oxidation, poor filtration or inadequate circulation. Poor filtration is the most common cause of cloudy water. Circulation and chemical fixes include:... Use Filter Brite to clean dirty filter media Add Pool Tonic, Natural Clarifier or Polysheen Blue to enhance filtration Ensure pool returns are angled properly To prevent cloudy water: Backwash filter when necessary Chemically clean filter every 4-6 weeks Replace filter media as directed Run pump at least 10-12 hours per day Maintain proper water balance Shock pool weekly to destroy contaminants Stay tuned for more tips!

Soaking in the warm weather while it lasts

Have you checked your pool jets recently? Return jets should be pointed down and away from the skimmer. This allows for proper circulation and fewer dead spots, as well as for the debris and contaminants on the surface to be properly cleaned by the pump. Stay tuned for more tips!
