A message from Rev. Ellie *i personally attached the link to the video* The reading for this Sunday is Jn 20:19-31 containing two of Jesus resurrected meetings with his friends. Please read it in advance and I will read a section of it for the homily. ... Rev Ellie --------------------------- Celebration of Easter lasts 50 days with the following milestones. We will be discussing the significance of these milestones and intervals through this period. For this week, the important thing to remember is that we are celebrating the amazement and absolute joy of Easter Day all week! 1. Easter Octave: The seven days following Easter are treated as importantly and as if each day is Easter Day. Octave or 8 - Easter Day, and the seven days following. The Octave ends this Sunday. 2. Forty days from Easter Day to Ascension Day. 3. Fifty days from Easter Day to Pentecost https://www.google.com/search

The Greatest man in history Had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Heal...er. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. His name is Jesus

A MESSAGE FROM REV. ELLIE REGARDING BIBLE STUDY === Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, ... Christ is risen. Christ is risen indeed. Here is the link to our Bible Study on the forty days following the resurrection during which the risen Jesus appeared to many. https://www.marfam.org.za//u/2016/04/Stations-of-Light.pdf We will look at the events and examine in more detail some but not all of the "Stations of the Resurrection " over the next six weeks at 6pm Monday evenings (beginning tomorrow, Easter Monday).. Jim Higginson has kindly offered to host a Zoom meeting so that we may meet on line for a 40 minute study. Please let Jim know if you wish to receive an invitation to join the Zoom meeting.(some already have) as you need to receive an invitation from Jim , as host, to be able to join the Bible Study meeting room. Please also ask if you need assistance in downloading the free Zoom application to your smart phone or computer. Its not hard. (Corporation has been meeting on Zoom over the past few weeks.!) Some of you may not have attended a Bible Studiy on Sunday mornings at St Lukes before, but you are most welcome to join in, especially during this time of mandated home isolation! Those that have been to a Bible Study before, please do join in this one. I look forward to the Bible Study as we go through these forty days of the Easter Season together. Blessings, Rev Ellie

Thank you Richelle for setting this up. I am glad there is a Facebook page for St Lukes. We are also looking at a 50/50 draw but we need someone who is compute...r savvy to help Julie Joyner with organizing ot on line and Elaine Powell is looking at a flower delivery in May (which will require drivers). If anyone can help on either project let us know All suggestions which allow for social distancing are welcome!

"The practice of covering crosses and images in the church may be observed, The crosses are to be covered until the end of the celebration of the Lords passion on Good Friday. Statues and images are to remain covered until the beginning of the Easter Vigil."[3][4] (Specifically, those veils are removed during the singing of the Gloria.) The veiling was associated with Passion Sundays Gospel (John 8:46-59), in which Jesus "hid himself" from the people.[1] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passiontide
