Our grand prize draw for "Read. Track. Win!" is one month away! Each badge you unlock equals one ticket to put toward the draw for Bean the giant teddy bear! Introducing the SMPL Reading Challenge: Read. Track. Win! We're inviting kids to track their reading from October 19th to December 19th for a chance to win prizes each week and a grand prize: Bean the giant teddy bear! The Library has recently purchased Beanstack, a reading tracking software that is fun and interactive for kids and adults. Beanstack allows kids to track their reading throughout the school year to earn badges, log their book titles, win prizes, and more. You c...an track through a web browser (https://stmaryspubliclibrary.beanstack.com/) or the Beanstack app. Here at the Library, we will be keeping track of all Beanstack readers and giving away a prize each week leading up to December 19th. To be eligible for the prize, kids will have to read and track at least one hour of reading each week. Prize draws will be done via video every Saturday morning at 10:00am on the Library's Facebook Page. Bring the sunlight indoors! The Library now has a light therapy lamp available for check out! The light provides important signals to the body to help you relax, and focus. If you can't get outdoors or there's not enough natural light available, a light therapy lamp is a perfect choice to get your daily light intake. Contact the Library for more information.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and service clubs, everyone is invited to don their costumes and come, preferably by vehicle, to Milt Dunnell Field to be photographed for a slide show! The first 250 costumed participants will receive a free goodie bag. The slideshow is one component of a spooky night for St. Marys: thanks... to the generosity of United Way Perth-Huron, our community will be treated to an all-ages, live-stream, made-only-for-St. Marys interactive show by master magician and mentalist Lawrence Larouche, also known as Majinx. There will be 10 opportunities for residents to participate in the show look for contests to win your spot! Stay tuned after the show for a family-friendly local ghost story, written by local history enthusiast June Cunningham and performed by personality Chet Greason.
