While we are so excited to have our dancers back in the studio next week for our assigned one on one sessions, option 2 makes way more sense! We are pulling in all our teachers next week for multiple times to ensure all our dancers are getting a one on one lesson per class! Please share and tag! Let’s get our kids dancing in one of the safest spaces created!

Class feature: Klassic Kids! Klassic kids is a recreational class where students will learn basic dance technique and combinations in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop through the season. This fun filled class gets the kids moving and grooving! Dancers in the Klassic program will also be invited to learn choreography for a recital routine to be performed at the end of the season. This performance is optional. 30 Minute Classes for dancers 3 to 6 yrs old. A great intro to d...ance class! Limited spots remain! Did you know we offer Adult Classes?!? This year we have 2 classes being offered for adults! Come and join us for an Adult Ballet Basics Class! This is for anyone and everyone whether you danced in your youth or are brand new. Some of the benefits to taking ballet as an adult are gaining muscle strength in particular in the core and legs, improves posture and coordnation, increased energy and flexibility, added confidence and self expression. This is a non performance class ...and runs in 10 week sessions. We also offer Adult Jazz - where our motto is to laugh and dance it off! A performance class that has taken to the stage in years past, bringing much joy to all participants. For all levels of experience, this full season class will get ya moving and grooving, while having a blast, making connections, and fills your soul! Our 7th and final grad, Congratulations Carmen! how long have you been dancing? 9 years ... what is your favourite dance memory? 1. Last year at the olds optional festival when us jazz girls helped put away props in the trailer and we were all dancing and running around like kids and we felt like such a tight team together bonding at one of our last competition of the season 2. When we had our trio practices where we stayed there until like 11:30 cuz we talked for so long and us girls really bonded with you or any trio practice in general what is your favourite routine of all time? The Maids- ballet group People help the people- lyrical group Morrissa and Is duet ( the Chicago one) what are your plans after graduation? Im going to University of British Columbia to study Sociology. After undergrad I plan to go into law. what is one thing dance has taught you that you will carry with you in your life? The importance of pushing myself out of my comfort zone and that I will always have a team behind me to help me achieve my goals if you could share any dance wisdom with our future stars what would it be? Throughout the years you will probably have moves you find impossible to master, costumes that itch ever inch of your body and hairstyles that will rip every single one of your hairs out trying to get it out. To an average person that would seem crazy but to a dancer that is all part of the experience. Every dance class is a new opportunity and chance to master that move, stretch a little longer and create a new memory to be added to the pile. Dance has shaped me into the person Ive become with my team ethic, dedication and percipience. I cannot image dance not in my life. My childhood to teenage years were filled with hours of classes at the studio and experiences with some of my closest friends. So when you finally master that move and find a way to calmly brush out your hair and when your final performance comes around, all youll want to do is start all over again. So make sure to dance with all your heart for before you know it, it will be your turn to say a farewell. Side note though the costumes dont stop itching.

Celebrating the class valedictorian and our graduating dancer, Tegan! how long have you been dancing? I have been dancing since I was about 3 years old, so about 14 years... what is your favourite dance memory? I enjoy the many memories of cheering my friends on from backstage and watching their faces light up whenever we performed our routines. what is your favourite routine of all time? I really love My Favourite Son that we are doing this year, but I also enjoyed the tap dance Feet Dont Fail Me Now I did when I was younger. what are your plans after graduation? After grad I plan on doing a road trip across Canada and then going to either U of A or a different university outside of Alberta. what is one thing dance has taught you that you will carry with you in your life? Dance has taught me to continue working hard throughout any problems Im dealing with as it will pay off magnificently in the end, and that many people are around to help. if you could share any dance wisdom with our future stars what would it be? I would say to continue working hard even if you feel like its too difficult, because youll feel so proud once youve grown

Congratulations to our 5th grad, Erica! how long have you been dancing? Ive been dancing for 10 years... what is your favourite dance memory? Theres too many to choose from!!! I would say either the way the crowd erupted into applause after our Run Boy Run routine and going to the thrift store for costume shopping. what is your favourite routine of all time? My favourite routine was Golden Girls what are your plans after graduation? My plans after grad are to take a year off, travel with my friend to Vancouver, then go to Vancouver Film School to make a career in the film industry. what is one thing dance has taught you that you will carry with you in your life? Discipline and knowing how to have fun!!! if you could share any dance wisdom with our future stars what would be? My advice would be to turn nerves into excitement and just have fun on stage!

Celebrating our fourth grad, Morrissa! how long have you been dancing? 15 years... what is your favourite dance memory? my favourite dance memory was when the competition was running behind & our jazz group went out for slurpees & candy, we bonded until we went to perform what is your favourite routine of all time? my favourite dance would be girl behind the mask what are your plans after graduation? I will be studying sociology at mount royal university what is one thing dance has taught you that you will carry with you in your life? one thing dance has taught me is that it is important to work as a whole to accomplish your dreams. By working together it teaches you life long skills to work as a team, & to commit to not only something you love but to commit to a group to help & work beside others to learn something together. if you could share any dance wisdom with our future stars what would it be? i would share that if you are having a bad day at school or tuff time at home to know that when you go to dance you are able to unwind at dance & can talk to your dance teacher no matter what because we are family!

Our third grad spotlight, Emma Jayne! how long have you been dancing? i have been dancing for 5 years... what is your favourite dance memory? my favourite memory is doing golden girls for the last time and laughing the hole way off stage because thalia went the wrong way. what is your favourite routine of all time? my favourite was probably golden girls and aerobic champs i cant pick between them. what are your plans after graduation? my plans are to take a year off then go into nursing what is one thing dance has taught you that you will carry with you in your life? dance has taught me to never give up even when things are hard anything is possible if u just keep going. if you could share any dance wisdom with our future stars what would it be? any wisdom i could share would be. try your hardest of course but still have fun because in the end its about having fun so just go and give it ur all and have as much fun as you can because u only get to do it so long and its so precious

Our next grad feature is Megan! how long have you been dancing? I have been dancing for 14 years in sundre... what is your favourite dance memory? One of my favourite dance memories is laughing and having cheesecake at our competitions last year. what is your favourite routine of all time? There are so many rountines that I love but one of my favourites was my acro routine fire and also this years jazz routine. what are your plans after graduation? My plans after graduation are to go to post secondary for Practical Nursing. what is one thing dance has taught you that you will carry with you in your life? One thing dance has taught me over the years is that teamwork is important for a successful routine. if you could share any dance wisdom with our future stars what would it be? My dance wisdom to share with our future SKDG stars is to always try your hardest with a smile on your face and to have fun while doing it!

This year we rolled out the red carpet for picture pick up and celebrated the unexpected end to the season.

Last night was magical! We were so excited to see the smiles of many of our dancers at they attended our red carpet picture day pickup! It was a night filled with many emotions! Joy and laughter to see the kids smiles and the bliss on their face as they walked the red carpet! Some tears were shed too! We miss the kids, we hurt for them not having the season end how it should of and our hearts pour out to our grads! This too shall pass and soon we will be able to dance, rejoice, celebrate, hug and share the love we all have for one another! Thank you everyone for last night, we all needed it!
