This week, we are seeing a spike of local cases of COVID-19. As a community, its caught everyone’s attention knowing the virus is still here. You may have a lo...t of unsettling feelings. Maybe its anxiety, fear for a loved one, or guilt. That’s normal. The news may also hit close to home, reminding us that each time a new case is announced, someone in our community has the virus. While it could be a loved one, a neighbour, or someone we don’t know, we all have a role in supporting them. A positive COVID-19 case is a person. They need our support and kindness, not our judgement. Please continue to be kind and support anyone who is seeking testing and treatment for COVID-19. If you know someone who has developed COVID-19 or someone who is isolating due to close contact, consider how you can support them: Ask if they need help. Drop off groceries or a care package. Check in on them and ask how they're feeling. Spread a little COVID awareness on their behalf. Refrain from gossip and pursuing information about cases. We all have a role and stand together in supporting each other and the health of our community. #SolidarityNotStigma #Sudbury #Manitoulin #BeCOVIDkind #PublicHealth #COVID19
