We here at Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation would like to introduce our long time volunteer and Social Media Manager Giorgia Apolloni! Here's a bit about Giorgia: "Hey everyone, my name is Giorgia Apolloni. I am the Social Media Manager at Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation and I sit on their fundraising committee. I have pretty much grown up in the foundation. I started volunteering with my mom when I was young. Every year we did the Festival of Lights togethe...r. It's a tradition that I carried on to my own family. Pictured below is my partner, Alex, and our fluffy dog Buhgles! For many years I have been involved in our Send-A-Kid to Camp program. Whether it be placing kids in camp, driving them, or working with them. I think that's why I love working here so much, because I've seen first hand the changes that we've made on some of our youth. What inspires me most is the positive changes from the start of camp to the end of camp. I studied at Cambrian College and got a diploma from their Business - Accounting program and am now working on my Bachelors at Laurentian University - Université Laurentienne. I hope that I can continue to use my education to help our community!"

Meet our Executive Director Anne Salter-Dorland: As the Executive Director for the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation [SMCF], I have gained extensive managerial and leadership experience in the non-profit sector and have earned a record of success in getting initiatives off the ground and flourishing. I have served for almost twenty-nine years with the SMCF whose programs serve disadvantaged children and their families within the community where I reside. In my leaders...hip with the SMCF, I have very successfully maneuvered the delicate balance between dedication to mission, the need for bold entrepreneurial initiatives, and the application of sound business management. My drive to pursue education in the non-profit field was whole heartedly supported by forward thinking SMCF Board of directors and one that I extend to my staff. I embrace educational opportunities as a chance to grow as an individual; to stay abreast on all courses that are relevant to this sector and to apply this knowledge to SMCF to bring greater success to all their current and future programs. In my personal life, I am an animal lover and avid horse enthusiast. I enjoy being an active competitor in the discipline of Reining and have earned both provincial and national championships, qualified 4 times to represent Eastern Canada at the world affiliate finals in Oklahoma and, most recently, earned 2 - Top Ten World Standing in this sport. In addition to my dedication to my equestrian goals, my 2nd and 3rd passion are ballroom dancing and physical fitness (especially weightlifting).
