Summit Earthworks 14.01.2021

Summit is proud to have expanded on our partnerships and world-class facility capabilities in 2020. With locations in Mission and newly opened Quesnel, a wood waste landfill and contaminated soil bioremediation treatment cell, Summit is one of the very few organizations in BC with multiple Ministry of Environment approved soil management facilities serving our communities. Our facilities are designed to manage contaminated soils and wood waste to meet strict health & safety protocols and remediation standards to protect the environment at all times. #environmentalservices #healthandsafety #mission #quesnel #contaminatedsoils #siteremediation #facilities

Summit Earthworks Inc. is a proud sponsor of Senior Female Athlete and long-term Mission resident Ann Mohs. Ann is 73 and a member of Canada's National Women's Outrigger Team. October 18, 2020, was the final race-off day at Jericho Beach for all those wishing to be selected for Team Canada's solo V1 rudderless World Outrigger Distance Championships to be held in Samoa, August 2021. Getting to this point meant competitors had to submit GPS data all summer long for 5km, 10km, 1...5km, and 20km time trials. Only those competitive enough were invited to the distance race off at Jericho Beach for that one coveted spot. Only 3 women qualified for the 70+ race. Ann Mohs won the competition. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, the International Va'a Federation's World Outrigger Distance Championships in Samoa (2021) and Sprint Championships in Hawaii (2019) were cancelled/postponed due to COVID 19. Ann now turns her attention to the 2022 IVF World Sprint Championships in London. All of us at Summit Earthworks are proud of her accomplishments and we look forward to supporting her as she competes in future events. "Look out I'm going to be there ready to make waves at the Sprint Championships!" - Ann Mohs #teamcanada #outrigger #ivf #athletelife #london

Our sponsorship candidate Ann has just sent us a message with thanks as well as an update on her competitions! "December 10, 2019 Thank you, Myles, and Summit Earthworks for your awesome sponsorship for my entry into the 2020 International Va’a Federation World Sprint Championship next August in Hilo, Hawaii. I am so grateful!... Just back from my latest Outrigger racing adventures in the Cook Islands of Roratonga and AitutakiVaka Eiva and Motu 2 Motuwhere my team of 5 other Outrigger racing enthusiasts entered six racing events and medaled in the 200 m Sprints (silver), the 12 km Iron race (bronze), and holds 2nd place bragging rights in the Motu 2 Motu Mixed. Vaka Eiva & Motu 2 Motu are annual events where teams of like-minded men and women come from around the world to compete with the best of the South Pacific. The Cook Islands people are scattered among 15 islands with a total population of around 13,000, they speak their own dialect of Maori and are self-governing under a 25-member Parliament elected by universal suffrage. They have a unique relationship with New Zealand and hold NZ passports. Kia Orana, the Cook Islands greeting is heard everywhere you go'may you live long'."
