Everyday we remember those who fought and continue to fight for our freedom. Today we honour those people who gave their lives and made such incredible sacrifices so we could sleep easily at home. My grandfather and uncle served. My other grandfather worked for the railroad. My husband’s family were farmers and hosted German Prisoners here in Canada on their farm. My cousins and friends are still serving today. Please join us at 11:00 ima moment of silence.

Thank goodness for great weather today! Can’t wait for the tree lighting ceremony this year.

Halloween Trick or Treating AND Haunted House at Sunny Acres with the Help of the Lions Club! Saturday October 31st from 1-4 PM. PLEASE REGISTER TO RECEIVE YOUR TIME OF ARRIVAL. COVID precautions in place. Volunteers will be equipped with gloves and masks to distribute candy. Trick or treaters will follow a pathway to 14 cottages with volunteers along the path to ensure proper social distancing. Event is rain or shine. The fall colours yesterday were outstanding here at the resort. All our Seasonal cottages are open until November 1st, come and join us at off season pricing. Year round bookings still available for our apartments!

Huge thanks to Art Shaw who is instrumental in saving the 210 year old accordion lath ceiling on the 3rd floor of the Old Stone Mill. The ceiling has been dete...riorating and earlier this year we came up with a heritage conservation solution of securing the ceiling with Plexiglas. It was Art who provided us with the carpentry details for properly installing the Plexiglas and who is now working on that with the assistance of Moel Benoit, Ken Watson and our CSJ staff, Carter Perkins and John Cairncross. The work should be completed this week, saving this heritage ceiling. This work will keep the ceiling intact and allow visitors to see its details for decades to come. THANKS ART!! See more
