Wow, we are blown away by the huge swell of support (pun intended) from our last post! We want to highlight our main callout as it may have been missed: We are looking for a lawyer to help us draft a land-use agreement so that our future efforts will not be wasted. It's been a while, we've been quiet, so here's what has been going on: Not long after we started to gain momentum, the project hit a wall due to some political issues. We thought about fighting loudly, but mud slinging wasn't what we wanted to do. We chose to work on things in the background and wait patiently for certain issues to resolve. Well, it seems like patience has finally paid off, we hope! The wheels are starting to move again for Surf Pemberton and the Rutherford ...Whitewater Park. Generating momentum for a project like this is the hardest part. Our team has shrunk down and needs to be rebuilt. Before we go full steam ahead on this project again we are looking for someone, hopefully a lawyer, to help us draft an agreement so that our future efforts will not be wasted. If you love surfing and would like to see a wave in Pemberton and have the skills to help us with this please email Tyler Kraushar at [email protected]. Once we are ready to proceed we are going to need help with: fundraising, grant writing, construction, promotion, events and just general hands-on-deck who love to surf and want to be involved in an amazing project driven by the community. We apologize that there hasn't been more info over the last few years and the monies we raised have sat in the bank account waiting to go towards this project.
