Nog! Nog? Such an unassuming word, and such a diversity of emotions it provokes depending on each person's life of Nog experiences, it can elicit warmth, yearning, nostalgia, or queasiness and mild alarm. Look, we've all had a bad Nog. Let's not let those unfortunate cartons eclipse the promise of truly good Nog. The Harmony Organic Premium Egg Nog we use is such a Nog, and indeed such a Nog as you wouldn't believe. Your family recipe handed down for generations is great I'm... sure, but this is the best thing that comes in bottles! We make the world class cream filling for our Egg Nog Brûlée doughnuts from it, and now we're also offering it in our lattes! It blends exquisitely with our espresso to create a drink that is as sweet and rich as Dolly Parton. The drinks and doughnuts are available at both locations throughout December. It's officially Nog season!
These were the lucky plums that now reside inside of our Sugar Plum Fairy sufganiyot. Now this vision will dance in your heads until you have one! We don't make the rules, that's just how it is.
The name "Bloop!" might not make sense if you just see it written somewhere. What could it mean? It's a contraction of the original name - we used to call it "Blue Vanilla Fruit Loop," but that was such a mouthful it hardly left room for the doughnut! I suppose we should probably have an apostrophe in there somewhere. B'loop? Bl'oop? Blu'oop maybe? The thing is, it was difficult to answer the question "what's in the Blue Vanilla Fruit Loop?" because the name is the whole ans...wer! Too many awkward interactions came from the response: "We toast fruit loops cereal and crush them up over some vanilla glaze that is blue." But when people ask "what's in the Bloop?" there's no awkwardness at all because even though the answer is exactly the same, it is now a VERY GOOD QUESTION! (Also it probably protects us from being sued to death by Kellogg's! Everybody wins!) Still awkward when someone orders "the one with the cheerios" though
You can find our doughnuts at Sula Wok on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays!
Welcome back to our little corner of Nanaimo, where the BC stands for Boston Cream!
Snow comes in many varieties - sometimes just a scattering of beautiful crystals, like the Maldon salt on our Salty Caramel. Take a close look at your next Salty Caramel before you shovel it away - check out the unique formations of every precious little flake that comes to rest on its surface. They're better than snowflakes. Snowflakes don't bring out the sweetness of a rich caramel - that's just science. Read a book.
Like the driven snow at dusk or dawn, our munkki take on a sprightly glimmer this time of year. Just an extra pinch of twinkle to brighten our spirits against the encroaching gloom. Don't be alarmed! It's only a little bit of magic!
Did you know our hot drink situation is back in full effect, in both locations? We have brewed coffee, espresso drinks, dairy and several non-dairy alternatives (the oat milk is incredible), hot chocolate, hot apple cider oh yes, and tea! Check out the combo deals, they're pretty sweet.
Sugar Munkki receives a glittery makeover every winter where we make it sparkle like moonlit snow. #glittermunkki
Peppermint Snowdrift is like a ski vacation in your mouth - it goes down quickly and it's a breath of fresh air! Or at least a breath freshener. Which of these little ski folks are you? Tag your friends!
Both of our locations will be suspending service to observe remembrance of all lives lost in all wars from 11 AM to 11:30 AM today.
