Good as Gold

In the past five months we have only moved a few times and only gone a few miles. Really missing days like this.

Been using this time to get some things fixed up on the blog. The maps are now better and up to date (http://www.svgoodasgold.ca/p/maps.html), and the page of photos is fixed up with better links to Flickr galleries (http://www.svgoodasgold.ca/p/photos.html). Now that's probably enough procrastination...it's time to write up something about the summer in Tasmania and the winter in lock-down.

Two whales getting frisky in Hervey Bay!

This galah had been blown out to sea and was struggling to fly into the wind to make it safely home. Lucky for him/her we came along so it could get a free ride (the wind generator was not spinning)

We're going to mark the new anchor chain in 10 metre increments. Tomorrow's job is to tie the little coloured strings onto the appropriate spot on the chain. One yellow at 10m, two at twenty,...the red ones are for 50+ metres.

I guess this is supposed to funny? It's a brochure for a product that is supposed to make it easier to handle dock lines, but the sexist assumption is that the MAN IS DRIVING, and the woman is handling the dock lines. On Good as Gold, the person who has the longer arms and legs handles the dock lines, no genitalia involved (hopefully).
