After 10 incredible years, the time has come for us to say goodbye. It has been an absolute pleasure to bring normalcy to parenting transitions. To support you all with open hearts and nurturing hands. To research and provide options to you, so you can make informed decisionsthen support you unconditionally. Our feet are taking us on a journey, and we are being pulled to something amazingimportant. And we are thrilled. While this chapter closes, another opens and I welcom...e you to join me in emotional exploration and vulnerability over at @moyer_and_co . From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for trusting us with your families. Your care. Your lives. We love you so much. xoxo Shannon #ldnont #weloveyou #wesupportyou #birth #postpartum

Because representation matters and the stats are staggering at how BIPOC pregnant people are treated. #ldnont #doula #bipoc #bipocdoula #blackdoula #scholarship #doultraining @ London, Ontario

How are we doing out there? Things are shifting and changing rapidly in the birth world - we are revamping curriculum, introducing new scholarships (announcing soon), mentoring students, assisting clients online, beefing up PPE to start in person postpartum appointments, digging in. Weve taken things offline because thats where the impactful changes are happening for us, but we are still here. Howre you doing? ... Do you need to chat? If youre expecting or postpartum, how has quarantine impacted you? See more
What do you wish you and your partner discussed before birth?

The concept of having a doula or birth companion is based on ancient tradition What resonates most with me, is the history of Black doulas and granny midw...ives - these matriarchs were trained healers who provided essential services to women of all races in their community This was long before low-income and Black women had widespread access to hospital-based obstetric care...even now, my people dont tend to feel safe in those spaces. Systemic racism means that sometimes healthcare workers hold prejudice toward us, and we need some kind of power, a sisterhood to draw our strength from. I focus on cultivating trust so I can understand what makes you unique and see how your background (might) influence how you navigate parenthood. Prenatal support and continuous birth support can help you become a better advocate of your care, encourage communication, and even help avoid the cascade of interventions. Enjoy learning from me? Lets see what doula support could look like for you - link in bio @allisonstrickland_ See more
Debriefing case studies for doula training students this morning! Big changes, necessary changes, will be coming to case studies, course content, and certification requirements! We all learn differently - so saying you must write a 1500 position paper on these three books doesnt work for every student. ... Recognizing this, one of the changes we are making is how students submit information. Videos, voice notes, screenshots of conversations, completed forms and essays are ALL accepted for debriefing case studies and continued education! #doulatraining #sweetstellas #doula #ldnont #birth #postpartum #doulamentor

Its been a hot minute since we introduced ourselves and since support is looking less personal and more virtual these days, we thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce you to our expanded team!
