Part 2 of our WSI class begins today. We are really looking forward to working with the candidates and helping them grow into great instructors over the next 3 weeks. Also why children are always SO HUNGRY when they get out of the pool. Who has a child that plans out their after swimming snack before the lesson even starts? We know we do!
Hi Lora? Lora likes level 4 because she loves the challenge of correcting beginner front crawl. She loves the Little Mermaid and is a huge fan of the arts. In her spare time, you can catch her listening to music and hanging with friends (virtually at the moment).
Its International Children’s Day #ChildrensDay The goal of Universal Children's day is to improve child welfare worldwide, promote and celebrate children's rights, and promote togetherness and awareness amongst all children.

Stay Safe has gone virtual: Be sure to register and secure your spot. Not only a great course for preparing kids to stay safe at home alone but also to be independent while you work from home. Ages 9 - 13
This is 'turtley' amazing!
What do you do to pass time when your practicing surface support? We like to cover water safety and then catch up with our students! Often when they are telling us how their week has gone they forget how hard they are working.

To all our fellow swim instructors out there: what is your favorite equipment to use? We LOVE these floating smiles. They are easier to hold then noodles or blocks and they provide enough (but not too much!) support to developing swimmers. They are also great for helping build strong side glides and above all... kids love them!
Anyone wondering about our level 2 swim? Its a combination level 2 skills all thrown together into one super swim! Starting in the deep end, kids will jump into the water. This tells us they are confident and comfortable in the deep water. Then they demonstrate front swim with scoops (breath). Once they get half way, show off that amazing rollover glide and then finish off the length with an amazing back swim. Between all the new skills and the endurance required for this swim ... it can be a little tricky. But mastering the 2 swim shows you, and our team that your kids are ready to start learning front crawl and do some deep end swimming in swim kids 03.
Our National Lifeguard course is winding down and we couldn't be prouder of all of our candidates! They have done such a great job and worked incredibly hard. They will make excellent additions to any guard team! Photo by Camille Brodard
Meet Laura! Laura is one of our supervisors and works in both Woodbridge & Thornhill. She has been with Swim Time for over 5 years now! She also did a lot of our private at-home lessons this past summer.
Internet Safety is more important than ever. With so much online these days it's critical for children to be able to surf safely and connect with friends and family in a safe, online environment. Our upcoming virtual Stay Safe course reinforces internet safety rules and stresses the importance of controlling the information you put out into the world. It also reviews safe snacking, basic first aid, and how to be more independent at home alone (or when you are working from home) Call today to book your spot.
Hey Rebecca! Rebecca loves teaching Preschool Levels and using games as a teaching method. Often kids don't realize they are learning if the concepts are hidden in a fun activity. When this fish isn't in the water, she also enjoys track and field.

**Picture Taken Pre-Covid** These bronze candidates are practicing swimming their unconscious victims back to safety. They all did a great job of determining an effective hold to perform the rescue and rolling over the victim. A strong eggbeater kick helps them do this quickly so they can begin treatment ASAP.
Back by popular demand: this 2-day Babysitting Course is run via Zoom. This course sold out in the summer so be sure to register ASAP! 905-707-9495 Ages 11 - 15
One big reason why rollover floats & glides are taught is so that the swimmer can roll to their back if they become too tired to swim on their front. They are extremely helpful in emergency situations. If a child falls in the water, knowing how to roll can give a caregiver those critical seconds back to perform a rescue. Rollovers can be used for people of all ages who have swam too far away from a point of safety and need to take a break, catch their breath, or wait for assistance.
Everybody say hi Samara Samara loves Frozen 2 and the colour yellow. She loves teaching preschool swimmers and developing swimmers. You can find her in our Thornhill location!

Who can tell us in the comments why its important to ALWAYS swim with a buddy?
**Picture taken Pre-Covid** Lets talk flutter kicks: You always want to make sure you have straight (but relaxed) legs and pointed toes. Your kicks should always come from your hips. The goal is to always maintain near-horizontal body position, flutter kicking near the surface. ... If you are having trouble with flutter kick, don't worry! It takes a long time to build up and practice makes perfect!
Time to meet Jonathan! Jonathan is an instructor in our Woodbridge location. You can find him here on Saturday morning. His favorite level to teach is SK10 so that he can perfect his student's strokes and improve their speed before bronze! He is also a big hockey fan.
