We still have space on our veggie box subscription! I thought I’d give some more info to help answer some questions we’ve been getting. For a full share, you will receive $25-$35 value of veggies each week from mid June to October. Here is an example of what you might expect on a week in August: 5oz lettuce mix Quart of yellow beans... Bunch of beets Cucumber Garlic A few onions Zucchini 2 tomatoes Pint of cherry tomatoes 2 bell peppers Swiss chard bunch Bunch of parsley We will also provide some recipes and info about how to use the vegetables in your box! Though we require a deposit to hold your spot, you have the option to pay the remainder weekly as you receive your veggies, or up front. We will be offering delivery to Petrolia, Sarnia, Wallaceburg, and St.Clair Township. Very proud of my winter carrots! we are on some lovely brookston clay soil that is very easily compacted. We’ve never had luck with carrots. They always have multiple taproots or crazy shapes. Our neighbour, who has worked this soil type his whole life, says that when you pull a carrot from these soils, it pulls back! ...so I seeded carrots into raised beds with 10 of compost and finally...carrot success! For anyone interested, these were seeded the first week of September in raised beds in an unheated hoophouse. We’ve been harvesting since mid- December.
