I was so nervous for this session. When I got the questionnaire back and it said 5 kids my first thought was 'oh shit'. Not that there's anything wrong with that many children, but it can come with a lot of challenges during a session - usually someone is grumpy, one sibling ends up hurting the other physically, or just their feelings, or both, etc. Then you add cold weather on top of that and woof, could be a recipe for disaster. So needless to say I was a tiny bit anxious f...or this one. But the minute this big crew showed up and started loving on and interacting with their kids so naturally with little to no direction given, I felt my shoulders begin to drop. It was perfect. They snuggled their girls while their boys ran around wild and they did it all without me telling them to. It was so easy and so wonderfully authentic. And I had no reason to be nervous. See more
With everything going on in the world and what each and everyone of us are facing right now, with a pandemic, provincial restrictions, economic struggles, the list goes on...it has been a rough year. Top that off with personal and mental health struggles, everyone is feeling bitter and frustrated. I stubbled upon this quote today and felt that it was a fitting little reminder that sometimes no matter how trying life gets, the most important thing in the world is having peopl...e that love you, unconditionally. "I've learned a lot this year .. I learned that things don't always turn out the way you planned or the way you think they should. I've learned that there are things that go wrong that don't always get fixed or get put back together the way they were before. And I've learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you." -Jennifer Weiner How lucky am I that I get to witness and capture this kind of love, as often as I do, with so many different beautiful families.
This session, my first one after a month's hiatus, I have to admit, I was nervous. It was windy and cold and I had four more booked right after, and I wasn't sure where the day would take us. But...IT WAS SO INCREDIBLE AND FELT SO GOOD! It was the best day and felt SO stinking good to be back behind my camera, doing what I love, capturing beautiful families loving each other! Also, I have discovered a new found love for winter. Minus the cold and only when it involves cute kids and sometimes PUPPIES!
I did this session in the summer with my two babies. It fed my soul, but my editing style was no where near where I wanted it to be, so I left the whole gallery unfinished and never went back. After going through a little bout of feeling uninspired, I decided to open them up again and re-edit my favourites. I struggled a bit to find a fit creatively for what I felt these images needed based on my regular editing style. So instead, I decided to take a bit of a risk and edit them in a way that makes me happy as a creative. This style may not for be everyone’s taste but it sure makes my artistic heart happy. Also, I miss summer!
Hi, it’s been a while. Social media is hard. Being a small business owner, in order for my business to thrive, I have to be ‘good’ at social media. That might sound like a silly sentiment but when it comes down to it, there are so many things that come into play: aesthetics, stories, captions, relatability, content, reels (!? haven’t even touched on this), websites, bio’s, hashtags or no hashtags. The list goes on. For most of us, we also have two different platforms that we ...use to share our work, promote our businesses, and to which we are vulnerable. As photographers, a lot of us do this in the comfort of our own homes which is a perk to the job but also a curse as we can, a lot of the time, be glued to our computers and phones for large portions of the day working on our social media game outside of our photography work. I have been struggling with all of this lately and will be making some minor changes to my social media to make my heart happy and hopefully find a balance between it all! Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.

Snuck up to Fort Saskatchewan this weekend for this sweet little newborn session. I was so excited when Dez asked me to come capture sweet little Betty in their home. They are the epitome of a beautiful, loving, growing family and I couldn't feel more honoured having been able to capture these incredible moments in their lives. <3
Sent this gallery away last night and I am 100% going to spam you with their images because this family is too gorgeous and this little gal is way too darn cute not to!
I am slightly behind on my posting schedule but I am finally getting around to sharing this gorgeous family. I love these guys so much, they are very near and dear to my heart and I was lucky enough to be able to capture their big, crazy, beautiful family. From laughing tears to crying tears and everything in between, hanging with these guys is always the best time and always filled with so much love. Makeup by CGBeauty
I have known Danielle and her family my entire life. So to have been able to document her beautiful family, as it continues to grow, was just so incredibly special to me. Soooo excuse me while I over share her session....just a tiny bit.
Family love and a little bit of sunset magic.
It's been such a long time since I've had my own children behind the camera, so I decided to do a little session of them last week at the lake. We found the most beautiful field filled with so many wildflowers. I absolutely love capturing the connections between families and other people but I am so grateful to be able to do so with my own babies.
Last night was magic! We were worried the weather wouldn't cooperate but we lucked out with the most perfect lighting! Add this gorgeous family in the mix and... Makeup by Courtnee Coolidge
Sneak peek from this sweet little mini session on Monday. This little family was so much fun and all so sweet! <3
Friends of mine are privately selling their beautiful home and I was asked to shoot some realty inspired images to help bring in some potential buyers. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I left feeling so excited. I enjoyed every second of it, so I am adding this to my portfolio. If you or someone you know is looking to up the ante of their private sale, I could be your girl! Looking forward to the possibility of more opportunities like this one! And if you're in the market for a new home, this one is an absolute must see!
I love this crew so much. They are so hilarious, so loving, and just so much fun to capture. Here's a not so little sneak peek of their family session from last night, because there were so many, I couldn't just pick a couple!
