The Thornhill African Caribbean Canadian Association TACCA) is a non-profit multicultural, multiracial organization which consists of members from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities from Canada and all the Caribbean Islands. The group is also cross generational with members from sixteen to over eighty.

TACCA Steel Orchestra resumes Music Workshops. Lindy Burgess Artistic Director of La Petite Musicale, Toronto graciously agreed to continue his role as Music Director of TACCA Steel Orchestra. We value his creativity and professionalism and take this opportunity to thank Mr. Burgess for continuing to pour into us his vast knowledge of musical genius and for his patience. Thursday May 26th., at 4:00 pm., is the day we have to find our sticks, our folders with the music no...tes and all the paraphernalia we have put away in a safe place (we cannot remember where) and come to the Dufferin/Clark Community Center, 1441 Clark Avenue West, for our first session since the quarantine started in 2020. TACCA is committed to the safety of all members hence a special air purifier has been ordered for our protection, in the meantime please continue to exercise all safety protocols implemented by the City of Vaughan so we can have a safe, productive environment. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday May 26th., at 4:00 pm.
To all Sewing & Craft enthusiasts TACCA Sewing, Craft, Pattern Drafting workshops will begin on Monday, June 6th. If you would like to learn the magical art of sewing or know any budding designers who would like to have a head start in pattern drafting and sewing or would like to master operating an industrial sewing machine this will be the ideal venue for them to begin. ... Classes are two days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 1.00 pm - 4:00 pm., at the Dufferin/Clark Community Center - Room 7. Depending on the response days and hours will be extended. Looking forward to your participation.

As of 12:01 am on Monday, Oct. 19th, the Province have announced that York Region, which City of Vaughan is part of, will be entering back into a modified Stage... 2. Due to the rising number of COVID cases, Premier Ford has announced that York Region will return to a modified Stage 2 restrictions for 28 days. As a result, all City fitness centres will be closed and all in-person fitness classes will be cancelled. However, all virtual fitness classes will continue to be available via Zoom and YouTube. All fitness memberships will be put on hold and extended fo the duration of the closure. Swimming pools will remain open for recreational and length swimming, as well as acquafitness but with extra protocol and reduced capacity i place. The Province’s newest restrictions will also mean that indoor food and drink services in restaurants, bars and other establishments are prohibited. Recognizing that many people may not be happy with these restrictions, especially the eating establishments, however we know it is necessary. I urge everyone to continue to be vigilant and practice physical distancing. Please socialize and entertain virtually and where necessary, please wear your face mask or face covering to safeguard each other. The only way that we can curb this virus from spreading is for everyone to work together for a common goal.
