Main Island Life - there are not too many resorts on the main island of Tahiti. Most are located on motus in the lagoon so to get to the main island you need to take a shuttle boat across (usually at a cost). For the past 3 nights I have been staying in a villa right on Matira Beach. The location is brilliant with the the yard of the house all beach and sand. The house was spotlessly clean and adequately furnished. As I have been to Bora Bora more than a dozen times, sp...ending this time on the main island has been a nice change for me. However, renting a private home is a VERY different type of experience than staying at a resort or even a basic pensione. I personally feel it is best for people who have been to French Polynesia several times before in the past. to stay at a resort or pensione. With a home rental, you must keep in mind that you don't have any of the services a resort offers - no housekeeping, no breakfast, no restaurant onsite, no concierge to contact for dinner suggestions or advice. I have had clients do villa rentals in the past and I only work with select few villas to ensure quality, but we need to make sure this is the right type of vacation for you - so if interested, when planning - let's talk about the pros, cons, expectations and your dreams and then we can go from there. But no matter where we end up booking you - Bora Bora is amazing and sure you will enjoy it!

The Views! One thing unique to the @conradboraboranui vs almost all other resorts is they are built on a hill. So you can easily get an aerial view without a helicopter, drone or plane. This is the view from the spa. Even if you don't have a treatment (which you should- they have some great options and beautiful treatment rooms inside or out!) What was once the Hilton Bora Bora Nui was transformed after a MAJOR renovation to be upgraded to the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. What I have to admit I love about this resort - is it keeps on getting better. The level of service, the rooms the food - onwards and upwards. Recently they have added many pools to the overwater bungalows, the garden bungalows and the Horizon view bungalows. If you have been following my stories on this trip you know how much I am enjoying my pool... rooms and here at the Conrad I have had 2 of them and I HIGHLY recommend them! Some exciting news too - the Conrad is introducing a butler service for EVERY room category at the end of the year. The Ohie Butler Service. Ohie In Tahitian, the term means It’s easy, do not worry, everything is ok and I’m here for you. As a guardian of the rich Tahitian Culture, they named their Butler service "Ohie" to perpetuate the symbolisms of the Tahitian culture and its hospitality: welcoming, elegant and inspiring. Which is another reminder as to why I am loving this resort - they are working to bring more and more Tahtian culture into the property which is what makes this destination so special! Le Bora Bora, formerly the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort, has just reopened as a soft opening after being closed for a year to have a massive renovation and in my opinion a transformation! I am fortunate enough to be one of the few to have a visit during this soft opening and am SO pleased with my experience! Sailing on the Vitamin Sea you are so connected to the Bora Bora lagoon as the shades of blue beneath you change as you glide silently across the water. The stop in Paradise Bay with the floating bar and snacks is magical!! What a view!
