***Sensitive Subject Alert*** I was speaking with a client today who was making the arrangements to purchase a Health Priorities Policy (Critical Illness/Life Policy Combo) for their Grandchildren. I shared with her that we personally have purchased three of these for our children. Our conversation progressed and I shared a personal experience we had with our son. Her response was that I needed to share this with more people. So after some careful thought, I agreed. We ha...d purchased the policies when the kids were brand new to this world. But in December of 2018, at the age of 2, our son fell very ill and was not getting better. He had started vomiting, refusing to eat and drink thereafter, and his muscle tone was deteriorating. We brought him to the hospital and the next 6 days were nothing short of terrifying. Between lumbar punctures, MRIs, ultrasounds, X-rays, and so many blood draws, plus the speculation that it could be anything from encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), to a brain tumour, to MS. Our world felt like it was crumbling, but one of the biggest assets that kept giving us some peace of mind was that we knew we had these policies in place. The critical illness portion was going to give us the means to be off work and use the funds for whatever we needed to get him better. THANKFULLY we did not have to venture down this road, because on day 6 he spontaneously started eating and walking again. The neurologist called it a flukey virus - she had seen it a handful of times that year. CRAZY! But I cannot tell you how relieved we were to get this news! We are Ian and Kara Murray and we live in beautiful Kingsville, Ontario! We met in 2004 when were 19 years old at Western University - Ian ...studied History and Kara graduated from Nursing. We moved here over 10 years ago with a desire to reside in a small community and make a positive impact. We are so grateful there was an opportunity here and the stars aligned for Ian to become Kingsville’s new State Farm Insurance Agent! When we first arrived, it was just us and our two border collies, Buck and Surrey. This is our sweet niece, Paisley Grace. She is strong, she is beautiful, she is feisty, she is so smart, she is playful and curious, and she only ever wants to be a busy 2 year old like every other kid in this world. She loves Elsa & Anna & Peppa Pig. She loves to do everything on her own and says I do all the time. She just moved into her big girl bed and is oh so happy in there!
