Our Seasonal Break is for the next two Sundays (December 27th and January 3rd) The Town of Perth and the Health Unit have informed us that the community centre is part of the current provincial lockdown, this includes sessions for : January 10th January 17th... Last week we said our until next time’s to Anthony, who is off on a big adventure. We at TeamPlayer will definitely miss the numerous stories and positive character that he brought to our program for the past few years! We’ll see you soon!

This Sunday, bring in a non-perishable food item or unwrapped new toy. Every year we haul a bundle of donations from our generous program families to the local food bank, The Table, right here in Perth. We always ask for kids to take an hour from their day to accompany us to make this personal delivery (we wear our jerseys!). It’s a great opportunity to learn about giving, receiving, what the food bank looks like, how it works, and why it’s important. If you’re interested in volunteering alongside us, please let us know . We will set a date and time once we know who’s interested in coming!

It’s giving Tuesday, a day to thank our volunteers and to let you know you can also help our programs! The TeamPlayer 9:30am hockey gang gathering with the volunteers and Special Guest, Karson McCartney (Blue Wing Alumni), this past Sunday. What a fun group! Skating, stickhandling, stops, edges, turns, scrimmages and more.

Volunteers! This is Gavin, this young guy has been volunteering in this program for two years. He has good days and bad days, just like all of us, and for his age it is a maturing process to understand what volunteering is all about. Giving to others takes practice, just like perfecting an athletic skill. His mom shared a story with me, about encouraging his responsibility to the program. One day, Gavin, you may need a job reference. What is coach going to say about how y...ou handled yourself while volunteering? These are the experiences you will put on your resume. Good advice. 2020 is year to remember. Our 1999’s lost their season in the midst of a playoff run, and our 2000’s are experiencing a start to the hockey season like no other. He’s just finishing up his culminating project for careers, when I spot two things .. some people he’s mentioned as career guides (@johncole, @briawood20 @mzungumorrison @michaelmclean) and that he was apparently an assistant coach for the Barkley Cup Champs in 2019 :-).
